out april isnt it?

They also have two copies for £47.98, so if you have a friend that also wants it too it's £23.99 a copy.

Personally I'm going hold out for the PS3 version as that will come with a free PC copy.

I don't really want to pay anything for this either. It was a freebie with the Half Life boxset before. I'll wait a year or two and it'll be bundled with something else or in the Steam Christmas sale.

Portal was really good but it's the kind of thing you pay £10 for not like £25+

Portal 2's co-op is twice the size of the single player in Portal, and the single player is bigger still. So it's practically 4x bigger than Portal. I'd say £25 is a bargain.

Portal 2 was developed as a full game after the unexpected sucess of Portal 1. Hence the full price.

Stop moaning. It will be amazing.

The original Portal was more of an experiment and additional content for the Orange Box.
The sequel looks like a fully fledged release and surely justifies a retail price?

The gameplay videos look outstanding, can't wait to play it!

I got the Orange Box just for portal; not all that long, but brilliant from start to end. Not bad for a very, very small development team. Can get it in Steam sales for peanuts by itself.

Portal 2 is a much bigger team though, so it stands to reason it's a much bigger game.

Portal 2's single player game is about 6 hours AND there's a separate co-op campaign, also 6 hours.
#13
the first one was amazing, and i can't wait for the ps3 release of this.

I hope that little weighted companion cube has missed me as much as ive missed it . . .

I got Portal 1 free when Steam first came over to the Mac, so this deal isn't really for me. It's a good price though....

But like some people are saying on here, I'm waiting for the PS3 version which will include the Steam version for free and incorporate the whole steam cloud service!

I've preordered it on PS3 for about £33 with the britvic code, and I'm still perfectly happy with paying that. I subsequently got a new graphics card that could play it no probs, but I'm still sticking with the PS3 version as I've got Portal on 360/Steam anyway and I'll get the PC version with the PS3 version.

I've read loads of people complaining this is too expensive as the first one was 'free'. I can't see the logic in that argument, and some people are just never happy. I can't think how long Portal took me first time, probably four hours, so if I'm getting 16 - 20 hours I'm very happy.

And it's quality, not quantity.

You say the PS3 copy comes with the 'pc version', is there an option for a free mac version? I'm buying a mac soon and have a PS3 see.
#17
I'm pretty sure if you buy the PS3 version, you get a Mac and PC version, if you have a PC and Mac obviously!

It's all tied into your steam account that you will have to create/log into (when they release it) on your PS3. Not sure exactly how it's going to work, and whether it will force you to download and sign up for Steam on the PS3 if you want to play Portal 2 online - that will probably stop people being able to sell/give away their 'free' PC/Mac copies!

It comes with the 'steam play' version which is both the PC and Mac version. So you buy the PS3 version and you'll own 3 formats of the same game!

Ahh thats awesome, cheers :p

A good price for now, but I'll pick this up when Steam stick it in one of their silly sales.

Release in April, so sometime around Thanksgiving should be a good bet for a cracking deal on a Valve game.

It wasn't exactly a Half-Life boxset, it was The Orange Box - a compilation of games that included Half-Life 2, HL2 Episodes 1 & 2, Portal and Team Fortress 2. That sold at the usual retail price for a single game, so if you break it down you could say Portal only worked out at £5-10. Portal 2 is going to be a much bigger game, well worthy of a full price tag. Of course, like all video games, the price will plummet after release.

April 22nd in Europe. Can't. Wait.

The cake is a lie...

Awesome game - can't wait.
#23
Admittedly it's going to be amazing. Ok, will buy it as a fully fledged release - maybe £17.99? Can't pay £26.99.
#24
If anyone wants to get this game, please get the two pack and I'll pay you half. <3
