Good price. Don't know why its not available @HMV online. Unless you know different...

Portal 2 for PC / MAC isn't listed on the HMV website, only the 360 and PS3 versions.
Hopefully this'll be in-store nationwide and send the prices tumbling. Great deal if you can get it.
#3
Is the mac version on a separate disc?
#4
For people who own a ps3 yet want the game on pc/mac it'd probably work out far cheaper to buy the ps3 version, use the steam code, then sell the game on ebay mentioning that it doesn't include the steam code.

The best PC game I've played in ages! Also it runs very fluently on modest hardwear. I played it on my old laptop (T6500 CPU, Nvidia 9600M GT GPU) at 1368 x 768 with all the detal settings on high.

The game has half the texture quality of Portal 1, so it's better on older spec machines + consoles.

Voted hot, great deal

usually with steam if you buy it on the pc you get it free on the mac

Brilliant game! Taxing on the brain though late on mistake I made trying to complete a challenge at 2am.
#9
great followup to a great game! heated :)

Couldn't care less about graphics quality with a game like this, it's all about gameplay! (if only LA Noire hadn't arrived at the same time for me...)
#11
Good price for PC.

Still not quite as good as the free copy at launch though ;)

EH? Free copy of Portal 2 at launch? I must have missed that one.
Care to elaborate?

I found the game good but it induced a feeling of motion sickness so had to give up playing it after about 30 minutes - I've never felt so sick after playing a game!

Only works if you had a PS3 handy.

Buy PS3 copy, link steam accounts, use free PC/Mac copy code enclosed, sell portal 2 ps3 copy on ebay for 40 quid.

Not nationwide i'm afraid. still £29.99 in Harrow, Enfield and Bluewater
#16

Who would buy the PS3 copy without the steam code for £40? I can understand people buying it for £30 or so but for £40, they could've got the game brand new

Is this a hard copy of the game, or once you've bought the disc do you have to download from Steam as with the Orange Box games?

They dont stock pc or mac games in my local HMV which is a bit crap. hot deal if you can find it though!
#21
Joe90 - thanks for the info, I will be getting this now for my laptop with a similar spec
Musicals - I had that problem with Orange Box on the 360, but no motion sickness on OB for pc. I think its because of the 30 fps cap on consoles.

As with all valve's retail games they connect to steam and update not install. Any download would of been updates, most likely to TF2 which has several GB of updates.
#26
Can this game be activated by steam?

Can this game be activated by steam?

It's a requirement, the disc is a coaster after install.

Yeah - it was smooth as butter on Sandy Bridge integrated graphics. Though this is a good deal, there is very limited replay value, if you don't buddy up to do multiplayer.

Is that Portal 1? "PC Game Poral HC." Can't see a 2, maybe thats why it was so cheap and not on offer and that nobody could get it at that price.
#36
No, it's Portal 2. I already own Portal 1 via Steam.

I have no idea. Its one of the many mysteries of eBay.
