Remember this one? Good album, good price!

"The haunting, tortured vocals of Beth Gibbons combined with the electronically charged, beat-driven, cinematic soul of Geoff Barrow made this album one of THE greatest LPs of all time. Whatever kind of music you were into Portishead's tormented themes and beautifully gloomy melodies were set against a hip hop-influenced beatscape that thumped with the drama of an irregular, slightly disturbed heartbeat. Portishead made feeling uncomfortable feel good. This is electronic music's best ever break-up album and, in that respect, nothing has come close to it since.

LOL...they had said new album this year, should start taking bets on who is going to release the long in production album first, Portishead or former Cocteau Twins singer Liz Fraser....I swear there must be something about the Bristol air that makes artists lazy!
#14
Same price in Amazon if you wanna push your order up to get free p&p

Along with massive attack portishead is one of the best artist to come out of Bristol. Chill on:whistling:

One of the best albums of the 90s and still sounds good today. Would recommmend this to anyone. If I didnt already have it i'd buy it
#22
Thanks 'nodham' .
#23
just tried to buy it, and it seems to be £7.99, not £2.99 :(
#24
I went to HMV in Poole and asked for it. Clearly marked
' Original price £10. Reduced to £3 '.
I am looking at it now .
#25
Online now says list price 14.99 your saving £7.00 now £7.99
#26
yes, maybe it's only £2.99 if you buy it in person from a shop. It definately seems to be £7.99 if you try to buy it online though. If this is true, the post is misleading as it states: "£2.99 delivered".
#27
£3 in the HMV near me.

In the "Dance" section by the way, i'd imagine dancing to Portishead is hardly a very vigorous workout!

Good album though, now does anyone know where Tricky's "Maxinquaye" is available for 3 quid.....
