Previously posted as a brilliant online offer for £95 -I was in HMV Sheffield (High Street) store today and saw this amazing bargain on the same box set - reduced further to £59.95 by means of an on-box sticker. Not sure if it's all stores (I'd imagine so?) so call first - is only instore, have checked the HMV website which is showing at £99.99.

Checked and it was a mis-price. All the stickers have been changed to the correct price of £99.99. Sorry folks!

Thanks deejayone :)

Wow! My son is James Bond bonkers! I'll be visiting HMV later today to see if it's there.

Seems like a big promotion in the Sheffield Branch at least - it was right in front of the doors as you walked in and in front of the checkouts too!

I had to double check the price as I was amazed!
#4
How much discount does student card get you? And can you just turn up with NUS or do you need something else?
#5
awesome just gonna get my dad to check in town for me in Coventry so will post on here if its that price there. Fingers Crossed!!
#6
What is the difference in the 2 versions of boxsets? If any at all.
#7
What a bargain.
#8
Hi great post, but just checked my local store (Hanley, Staffordshire) and they said it's still £99 :( Good luck to anyone else trying for this deal!

It may be dodgy advertising.. i.e. save £59.99, now £99.99

huispan, there is a big difference. It has all been remastered. I think it now has DTS too.

10% off with an NUS Extra (costs £10) card. They swipe it so I doubt you can get away with the free NUS card or other student ID.

£54 for 20 bond films? Might head into town later.

Very Nice, although you know they'll release another one when casino royale is released.

So is this an older box with worse discs? Description says they're the "ultimate editions" which sound... ultimate.

Yeah my dad just went in and he said the manager recons that the SAVE 59.95 label had fallen off so just the 59.95 remained and they were forced to sell it at that price.

So unfortuantly its 99.99 in coventry

On the website it says:

RRP £269.99 Your saving £170.00

DVD £99.99 Delivered

The sticker in Sheffield definately said the price was now £59.95 - although that might have been labelled incorrectly?!?! Apologies for the post if so - unfortunately I didn't have the cash on me at the time so didn't attempt a purchase!
#15
deejayone - were there more than one sets - priced at £59?
if so, it's a pretty big mis-pice!!!
#16
I thought the exact same as you, unfortunately the sticker says, SAVE 59.95
Price 99.99

the save is in BOLD RED TEXT and the price just plain black, and the 59.95 is bigger and right in the middle, so that's why you thought it was such a good deal.

Weird, that would make the old price £159.94, a weird number, and the web site says RRP £269.99, save £170. Never mind, it's not like I have time to go to sheffield to check or anything. Would have been a good deal if true, dj1.
#18
That would have been a great deal to start the new year with. I don't love the Bond movies enough to even consider purchasing at the heavily reduced price of £100.
#19
I just phoned up the manchester stores to see if they had them for £59.99. The first store said £99.99 and the second said it was £49.99. Now I'm not sure if he had a speech impediment looking at some of your other replies. I'm going down at lunch so will let you know.

There were about 10 -

I did check the label (I was shocked!) and it had been written on, not printed.

Wonder if they've made a big mistake - I'll run up at lunchtime and check... (and buy if it is that price!!!)
#21
maybe deejayone swopped a sticker round :D Sounds a great deal - may get it if they have it in manchester
#22
deejayone: get me one too :)

Just Phoned Around Manchester And Sheffield And They Are All Saying It Was £159.95 And Now £99 - So I Guess This Is Just A One-off. Good Bargain Anyway!!
#24
Indeed - I jsut called Greenwich and they also said £99 (after checking on the electronic system). Sound like it could be a mislabel or local promotion. Get it if you can!
#25
Chester: Was £159.95 Now £99.99
#26
I went down to the Manchester store and it was £99.99 in the end. Nevermind.
#27
Well, the one I went to was priced at "159.99" and was hand written, so I guess someone messed up and left the "1" off those boxes! Should still scan at correct price though so may need to fight it...
#28
Yeah just been in the new HMV at Moorgate station (City of London) and they have it at £99 too. £59.99 off.
#29
so shouldnt this be expired

So funny... I sent my boyfriend into Sheffield HMV for this and they are priced up as "save £59.95" rather than £59.95... however boyfriend mis read the price and so did the salesperson... it came up as the wrong price at the till and the salesperson did a price override... we got it for the bargain price of £59.95

Many many thanks... had to register to post this as wanted to thank you guys!
#31
lol

Glad you got yours Froggy!

I went back in to check and they had changed all the stickers to the £99.99 price, so unfortunately no deal anymore. Sorry folks!

This reminds me of Derran Brown mind trickery:giggle: . If you sound and act so convinced, it makes another person believe and see what you are seeing. Spooky !!!!:w00t:

I saw Derran Brown's show and he had a losing bet ticket, but by showing convidence and belief and telling the cashier that he had come to collect his winnings from his winning ticket the cashier seemed to see the ticket as a winner and paid out, astonishing !!!!:w00t: of course Derran gave all the money back:thumbsup: but it was very entertaining....

Very Nice, although you know they'll release another one when casino royale is released.

Normally I wouldn't buy this set for that exact reason but Casino Royale is a reboot of the franchise so this can be considered a complete set forever - makes it much more attractive to me :)

If you have a valid matriculation card, then you can get an HMV student card, which gives 10% off in store and online.
