Sounds almost too good to be true...isnt there a minimum time you have to stay with them? Like 5 years or something. It says that:

Cover will cease if your direct debit payments are stopped or cancelled. Your plan and cover will end after 30 days from the date the last premium was due. You won't get back any payments you've made.

??
#2
I guess once you stop paying them then they just stop giving you cover and thats it (hopefully). Can someone clear this up.
#3
got bitten by this sorta thing before on quidco, deal too good to be true, everyone jumps on it.
the retailer then decides they've maxed out their marketing budget and the deal gets pulled, cashback goes to rejected and you're stuck with something you really didn't need.

tread with caution.

yep but even if that happens uve got £100 cash

I was reading the terms and conditions and it says that if you stop payment then all 'privelages' cease. Does that mean they could ask for the £100 back. I asked for a quote and the minimum time you can get a quote for is 3 years. Which if you pay the minimum is £5 a month = £180 over 3 years. So £146 chashback, if your looking for life insurance is pretty good...otherwise, really just wasting your money.
#7
seems that you could cancel after 3 months and keep £100
T/C only says: If any payment is not paid on the due date or within the thirty days grace allowed, the Plan will be cancelled and all benefits under it will end.
#8
You can cancell at any time, you just need to pay for 3 months and then they send the voucher within 28 days, you may need to pay for a further month just to be sure, ive gone for it and cachback has already tracked

me too. Seems it's a £15.00 punt for £128.00 profit.

You can cancel cover of this nature whenever you want. Cover just ceases

Why cold?
#10
Good deal, Heat added, why so cold??

I'v just been quoted for me and my wife £10.44/month for 3 years £100.000 cover. After cashback and quidco it comes down to £6.46/month, which I think is a very good deal but only for those who genuinely want the cover.

I can retrieve the quote and continue with the application within 30 days.

Need to talk to my other half, but very much sure that we will be taking the offer.

Thank You to original post

Well I have signed up for it. It is only going to cost me £15.00 max and I will make a profit and get £1400 life cover over the next three months until I cancel it once I get my £100 plus my £43.00 from Quidco as well. I think it is a good deal anyway. Voted hot.
#12
WoW this seems to good to be true.

But it's got to be worth a punt (even if the PO decide not to hounour the Quidco you are still going to be in the region of £80 better off after 4 months)

I suspect they won't honour the quidco - for instance ''esure insurance have just declined the £45 cashback i was prommised for a £175 car insurance policy'' & that also seemed to good to be true at the time?
#13
It looks good to me, I've given it a go and voted hot!
#14
my quidco has validated - i.e, ' Validated - The merchant has confirmed they will pay cashback on your transaction.'
banned#15
Nice one! Gone for this.
#16
i took this deal out 3 months ago but i think the minimum term was 12 months and your monthly payments had to exeed at least 10 pound a month, my quidco was validated and then paid last month, the 100 pound cash back i get once my policy has ended (ie after 12 month).
#17
Given it a go too. Lets hope I don't have to pay for cover for the next three years.

It does specifically say that it will pay out within 28 days of the third payment - here's hoping, and I cannot find any minimum requirement - is anyone else able to find this info?

Quote reference saved while I mull it over

If only that were actually always true.

always true in my experience assuming you follow the quidco instructions (i.e. a seperate browser!)

took my policy out 20 minutes ago :-

£43.00 from Post Office validated on 07/08/2008

Don't get me wrong - I've had a lot from quidco over the years but read the thread on MSE and it's clear lots of people have had "validated" transactions subsequently declined so I personally no longer take this status as a guarantee.
#23
£100 cashback and £43 Quidco for minimum £15 layout....that might just be worth a gamble.

I can see the Quidco failing, but not the £100 cashback - how can they jib out of that one?

You must be a high risk - I'm getting £26500 of life cover for my £5 per month!!

it says in the original post they can withdraw offer at any time without notice!!

'Only one £100 cashback offer per customer, which must be redeemed for cash at a Post Office® branch within 3 months of receipt
Letter to redeem £100 cash will be sent to you within 28 days of payment of your 3rd monthly premium'

'within 3 months of receipt' of what? the policy doc's?

They send a voucher for the £100 cashback, you have to cash it in at a Post Office within 3 months of you receiving it.
#28
Just phoned Enquirys and the guy said there is no minimum term of contract and you can cancel at any time but cover will end.

So wait for the £100 voucher to be sent and then cancel the cover.

Seems to good to be true though.

With spending £15-20 and getting £146 in total from post office and quidco.

I assume you have 3 months to 'cash the cheque' ie, when you receive the Letter for £100 cashback...:whistling:

My wife took Post Office car insurance this time around, £100 was credited back to her account after 3 months. I was sceptical too, but they came through! Was looking for LI, so razor keen for this deal! Heat added...
#31
decided to give this a punt. Cheers guys. Out of interest did you have to anter a code when taking out the policy to get the voucher? I couldnt see a code so hoping that simply appliying for life cover before the 15th get you the voucher.

Cheers

Voted hot.

Ditto. I have a problem with The Hut transactions - they always validate, and then always get declined. In fact most things I've had declined have been Validated beforehand.
#34
are there any up-front fees?

...but I'm still giving it a try!

What happens if you "claim" in the first 3 months do you still get your £100 cash back?

;)

they can withdraw the offer, but if its valid at the time the contract is made then they would probably honour it.

Given it a punt anyway - £20 investment for a potential £143 return is no bad thing!

LOL

You'd have a job cashing it at the Post Office!
#39
Just as an aside - I pay another company £10 a month for life assurance, and it pays out £250,000.
For the same price, the Post Office only pay £106,000.

So as a bit of a blag to get £143 it's worth it, but after that, I'd look around for better options for cover.

Yes, but they can't do that retrospectively - they can only withdraw the offer for peopel who haven't signed up for it already.
