POUNDLAND 3 pregnancy tests for £1.00!

foxylady* Avatar

Three sensatest pregnancy tests for £1, much better value than going to chemist.

Can be stored when trying (I wish I had done this I spent loads buying tests each month whilst I was trying for my daughter!)

Or can be used in emergency panic situation! Three makes the answer a little more reassuring one way or another!

No probs buy one rediculously over priced one for the first time and then use these as back ups. If anyone is like me they will do three or four tests until they believe the answer. I just hope it saves someone spending loads like I did. The three or four pound ones are just dipsticks so this is still a bargain!

and trust me they work as good as any other test costing £10 etc

[SIZE="1"][B]How does a home pregnancy test work?

A home pregnancy test measures the presence of the hormone Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin (H.C.G.) in your urine. H.C.G. is produced in the placenta shortly after the embryo attaches to the uterine lining. This hormone then builds up rapidly in your body in the first few days following implantation. Usually H.C.G. can be detected by a home pregnancy test 7-10 days after conception. This test is capable of detecting pregnancy as early as the first day after you miss a period. The further in to the pregnancy you are the higher the levels of H.C.G. in your urine.

How accurate are these tests?

All our tests have proved greater than 99% accurate in laboratory and consumer studies.

does anyone know what colour these turn if a male pees on one?

good deal, but for the peace of mind especially regarding a life changing even such as pregnancy/child birth spending the extra few pound would be best advised.

What do you think hospitals use???

A piece of paper that detects the pregnancy hormone exactly the same as the pound shop ones, so I would advise you to stop being a snob about it

Some people have some weird opinions of women needing pregnancy tests.
The only people that use these are not teen mums or people who sleep around, I know thats hard for some people especially men to get their heads around.

not necassarily, most women who are desperate for a baby usually do more than 1 test.

So women who have fertility problems have to be frequent visitors of the poundshop why?
#25
just to note that i used similar tests to these to determine that i was pregnant 21 weeks back! now 25 weeks gone with our second child and to be perfectly honest, i actually found the cheapy tests much more efficient in detecting the HCG hormone than the mega expensive ones (i took 5 tests before i was totally satisfied!!!). good luck to anyone who is trying for a baby (and of course to those who aren't too best not discriminate with the luck stuff)! heat and rep added. :)
#26
Why would anyone want 3 of these? Just to make sure or something?
Bit of a strange one this, maybe one could be used as a stocking filler.

if desperately trying for a baby, as we were, the first may not come back with a positive result, give it a few days and the second may/may not, and hence the process of testing either continues, or a woman may do the third one to substantiate the second or first if they've given a positive result. lots of answers for lots of different situations i guess is the ultimate answer, or am i taking this all too seriously?! ;-)

Tip of the day-

After intercourse, try putting a pillow under your bottom, elevating your hips allowing for more sperm contact. Stay there for at least 30 minutes. Why make the sperm fight gravity on top of all the other obstacles it has to get through to get to where it needs to go.

This is Hot UK Deals, not Hot UK advice on how to get sprogged up. Something along the lines of "a bit too much info" :giggle:

I suspect most people who buy this would do so to confirm they're NOT pregnant tbh.

It's not just women who are desperate..Women who are just trying for a baby quite often do more than one test to make sure that the first isn't a false negative.

My wife is 16 weeks pregnant and she did 2 tests in 2 days to confirm before visiting the doctor. She was worried that the "cheap" tests might give her a false result but the doctor told her that the "cheap" ones are just as good.

Birdyboy,
Why not just go to your doctor? A lot cheaper!

Because 3 trips to the doctor to get a pregnancy tests costs a lot more than a quid to the NHS! If all the women who bought tests decided to go to the doctors to get a test you'd never get an appointment if you needed one! :giggle:
#39
we are trying for a child , today the misses sneaked off to get a test which she then failed , there were tears , the test she brought was 12 quid and has 2 inside so for a quid for 1 then thats clearly a great deal , shame theres not a poundland around here

If a bloke pees on it, will it tell them if they've recently got anyone pregnant? Is that why they sell them in threes- for the studs here?
