Got these last year but with snowflakes on and gave them to people with biscuits I made in them. People loved them, probably better than anything else I got them *rolls eyes*. I've seen a few people I gave them to using them all year round.

But most recipes are for a 9" tin and with marzipan and icing that would probably grow to 11" unless you're going to turn it upside down to get it out then a 15" tin would probably be the minimum.
And that's probably why these are cheap

Quite right, a 9 inch cake will not fit in an 8 inch tin ;) It would not be quite tall enough for a full size xmas cake either.

I bought a couple of these to post delicate items in after having boxes crushed in the past.. I wrapped the items in bubble wrap, then put in those polystyrene noodle things to fill up the tin. I taped the edge of the tin and put a bow on it. I wrapped the tins in a bit more bubble wrap and brown paper and fragile tape. Arrived safe and sound and pretty enough to sit under the Christmas tree until the big day.

That's a nice idea :) I agree, they are pretty enough that they don't really need wrapping :)

got these last year and they are great quality... just bear in mind they are small so a smaller sized cake will fit! or just 4 cupcakes...!

Voted hot OP.

Btw they could do with some new shelves, as I don't like the rust. ;)

I bet if Transformers work at Poundland there wouldn't be any rust of the shelves :) That would be pretty damn cool if they did actually, but I think transforming robots probably have other jobs to do :)
