I used to love Cadbury chocolate for years and years. I always preferred eg, Roses, Milk Tray and would only enjoy easter eggs if they were Cadbury's. However, now it is disgusting, sugary, awful! I tried to suffer Heroes last xmas and that was the final straw. We don't bother with Cadbury choc now except for the cake which doesn't taste as bad.
It's a real shame. Cadbury used to be fab'. I have shifted over to Galaxy which hasn't been too destroyed.

Cadbury's was bought out by US company Kraft before buying it they promised the UK workers that their jobs were safe and after acquiring it they took the EU money partly given by the UK to relocate to Poland putting the UK workers on the dole. The recipe was altered in keeping with US taste i don't but anything to do with Cadury.

It's a weird face for an Easter bunny. It's almost a surprise rectal exam kind of expression.
Got to admit I wouldn't know that particular expression as I've never had one and it's certainly not at the top of my Christmas Wishlist :p

You've already had it done, you just didn't know it. Surprise! lol

Best Before Date... Pah! Brexit is coming, load up the trolley!
Picture doesn't do it justice, no offence OP :) One of my favourites along with Higlanders broth. Much prefer Baxters to Heinz.

Ever popular, it was a founding recipe from the Baxter family and remains one of our personal favourites. More than a broth, this classic recipe is a real meal of a soup; beef, mutton, potatoes and barley combine to create a rich and warming soup.

INGREDIENTS

Water, Cooked Pearl Barley (11%), Carrots, Marrowfat Peas, Potatoes (4%), Onions, Swede, Leeks, Beef (1.5%), Mutton (1.5%), Cornflour, Cabbage, Mutton Fat, Salt, Modified Cornflour, Yeast Extract, Parsley, Beef Extract, White Pepper
Picture looks interesting oO Heat from me though.
Will last for years in a can. Stock up. :)

this is only stuff I use on my skin - it's greasy but it just leaves the skin soft after you wash it off. Seems to work well for inflamed areas that are trying to turn into spots and basically ungunks pores but your results may vary. does clog up some skin types. its also great for cooking and hi-fat low-carb eating.
It's only good for high temp frying. At lower temps virgin olive oil is better.
Doesn't virgin oil have a lower smoke point than olive oil?

You are correct

Coconut oil 177°C
Extra virgin olive oil 160°C

Are the Allsorts the ones in the clear pack instead of the black Bassetts pack?

Unfortunately, you can't get Bassetts anymore, it's now Maynards Bassetts and they are horrible compared to the old Bassetts ones.

this seems to be happening to a lot of old favourites
Maynards Bassetts have changed the recipe for a lot of the old Bassetts Liquorice Allsorts and they are now quite horrible.

I stopped eating Tuna after the Fukushima disaster. 29p makes me feel someone is trying to get rid of it.Fukushima Radiation in Tuna
From your link:
"For public health, the levels of radiation are very low and far below levels that are considered cause for concern."
It's probably one of those where your body produces or eating a banana exposes you to more radiation than you would be eating a tin of exposed tuna. :)
I'd just like to say, I really appreciate your posts. It sometimes seems like the tide of scientific illiteracy is unstoppable, and that verifiable scientific facts are becoming mere matters of opinion. But then I'll see a post from you, all relatable and informative without a hint of condescension (as tempting as I know it can be), and it gives me hope for the future. So basically, carry on doing what you're doing. I love you

(not really, but I like you a lot)
I love tuna.. but if ur going cheap may as well get some sardines/mackerels. If ur after health benefits like omega 3 tinned tuna/salmon only has small amounts of it. Better wen fresh. But tinned mackeral/sardines are packed with omega 3.
jaycrooks - if you are referring to the Ocean Best brand, they are 3 X 165g for £1, which makes them 33p each, not 29p, and the total weight is 495g not 745g. Like John West and Princes, they contain so much liquid, that you end up with little more than 50% in weight of tuna. Whereas Lidl's tuna contain a lot more tuna and a lot less liquid and they are often comparably cheaper than JW & Princes.

JFI, it's the peppermint ones, not the spearmint ones we are used to.

The spearmint ones are blue. ones in normal shops just say Original!!

i stand corrected, I thought 'original' was spearmint. Original isn't peppermint though!

i dont know what flavour they are but know they are not spearmint, always avoided the blue spearmint cause some reason gave me sore throat :(
glad to see the 99p store influence on pound stretcher is bringing the "bargains"
i've tried them... not the same but oddly nice... trouble is they're softer so you can crunch through a packet in minutes... the old polos (or genuine ones) are like glass shards when you crunch them!

Voted hot, the Kodak Alkaline from pound land are average alkalines for £1 for 6. Have seen that they 'only' last just over 5 hours compared to 6-7 hours for premium Duracell or Energisers but they are a **** quid for 6! I'll take 15-20% or there abouts less battery life for a massive saving like that.
