Kudos for posting but I would feel uncomfortable using one this cheap from the safety point of view. Is this just too cheap or are my worries unfounded?
#2
I used mine regularly - quality seems fine. Does me for emergency moments when my phone is about to die (journey home. For a quid, i think it's rather excellent

There's a test (as in disassembly and electrical test) and review on you tube - the older models are debatable but the new ones seem good, maybe not recommended for very new phones.

Sainsburys seemed to be clearing out all their batteries in my local ones FWIW, maybe worth a look there.

Are you worried that it's going to burn the house down? X)

It will be a single cell with a cheap dc-dc converter and a bit of cement in it so it feels substantial. Nothing wrong with that for the price but I'd look in Poundland instead as their electrical stuff has a half decent safety record
#7
It's ok for £1 as an almost disposable battery pack but you'll probably only get around 20% added to some latest smartphones on a full charge

picked up a few in pound land that look the same just in a cardboard box instead they seem ok but then picked up some euro carparts 2000mah ones for a £1 so these ones are just sitting in a drawer I am happy to use them seem quite good quality but might rip one apart and have a look inside

Never charges completely all the way so have to keep it hooked up all the time. Then when it is used might charge the controller for 10 minutes.

Haven't watched bigclive for a while, will have to catch up.

I've got one of these but used my "Ravpower" 16000mAh powerbank over Xmas - I find I don't really use this Poundworld one.

Actually, from looking at this, "Signalex" is a Poundland brand, not Poundworld, so they're not the same.

Unless, of course, they're made by the same manufacturers.

there virtually identical inside, eurocarparts just unscrew, poundland/pound world open with a plectrum without damage.
eurocarprts are about 40% higher capacity in my unscientific tests.

Nice I unscrewed the euro car parts one and it is such a simple design and pig to put back together too. will take apart the signalex one tonight I think I will use them to charge the htpc remote controls in the house because they have 800mah batteries and they always die when I want to use it so can charge and sit on the sofa with it

I had a look at that thread and noticed a few recent-ish comments were on there, even though it's nearly a year old.

Said this not long ago:

They had plenty of these in the poundworld in grays in essex so i grabbed a few. probably won't ever need them but when has that ever stopped me ? :)
Hahahahaha, I agree!, as same applied to me too (several months back also), lol, where I too bought a few of these from different London based PoundWorld's, only for several months later to pass, and this to rather happen:
Poundworld fined £190,000 for selling faulty phone chargers and THOUSANDS could be at riskhttps://www.thesun.co.uk/news/2347384/poundworld-fined-190000-for-selling-faulty-phone-chargers-and-thousands-could-be-at-risk/
Errrr with caution now perhaps? (I know I will ..... ) :-)
That story only mentions the "Complete Smart Phone Charger Kit" which looks like this
https://www.thesun.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/nintchdbpict000287349626.jpg?w=960&strip=all
Though a few earlier comments say (about these specific chargers, unless they've been "improved" in the last year) that they go on fire oO

its a flush lid and the battery is removable (not soldered) after you remove the white panel that are the bad ones I believe.

If you YouTube it a guy has opened it and checked the safety sides of it worth a look!

if you have a torch that fits 18650 batteries use the battery in that.
