Basically an Xbox shaped controller for the PS3.

I was talking to my mate who owns both XBOX and PS3. he was telling me that the PS3 controller is horrible compared to the XBOX.
And said its a shame that you can't use the XBOX pads with the PS3. Personally I love the PS3 pads and have no problem with them.

Anyway I had a look around and found this on amazon. Ordered one for my mates birthday. Reviews are a little mixed so will see how it goes. Not a bad price tbh ....cheaper than a DS3...

Helpful...like I said its for people who prefer the XBOX controller but have both consoles.
If you like the PS3 like me....thats fine....stick with the Dualshock 3.

Xbox controller everytime..... PS3 controller feels like a toy that could snap in your hand.

I very much disagree, the Xbox controller is the best controller I've ever had in terms of grip, weight and build quality (the O button has had problems since the launch of the PS3, the internet is flooded with complaints about them) since the old SNES controllers.
It does depend on the game though, the D-pad of the Xbox 360 controller is very much insufficient for 2D games. This one seems better than the one on the 360 controller, though the placement still doesn't seem to comfortable for long play sessions.

If it was as good as the regular 360 controller (but with an improved d-pad), I'd get it.

Okay peeps calm down. Anyways - be careful before you purchase. New system firmware means this may not work now or in the future.

Yep... new firmware *apparently* takes out 3rd party compatibility... check forums etc first people to avoid disappointment...

I am reading that one update blocked even licensed 3rd party peripherals such as MadCatz products.
Seems that it was a mistake and sony will correct.

They work fine on 3.50. I've had a couple of these for a few months. I got mine from argos £24.99...

My son did not like using this for Mw2 said it was too slow. for turning fast on high sensitivity etc.

Plays mw2 on both 360 and ps3

This pad is also very rough to hold-- cross cut handles / ridged may find it grazes skin etc

i think totally the opposite....the 360 controller is quality construction, the ps3 one isnt and feels fragile

xbox360 is the best controller ever made...not being a fanboy or anything...its one thing that the xbox is miles better than the ps3 at...that, xblive and easier to develop on otherwise pretty much same

ps3 controller is made for people with girly hands

I'm another Dualshock hater and couldn't recommend this pad more. The worst thing about this pad though is the rough feel of it.

And I don't like how there are some sharp corners near the triggers which always get in my way. It'd help a lot if they'd just extend the grips a little bit.

I don't think it's a bad controller though, I just think it's about average. It still beats out the Nintendo 64 controller, CD-I Controller, Mega Drive Controller, Saturn Controller, Sony PSP, Nintendo DS Lite, original Game Boy Advance and many more controllers or systems by a very big margin.
