IIRC its not advisable to connect any of these above 100-150w into the cigarette lighter socket. You need to connect straight to the battery.

That's correct - that's what the croc clips are for. :)

If you leave an interior light on all night the battery is often dead in the morning, so how long would one last if wired up to a playstation, TV, etc?

Something wrong with your batt or alternator I'd expect ... you can leave interiour lights on for a while, you never used parking lights?

Is there a full set of car fuses supplied with it as well as a fire extinguisher? You may need both if you plug it in and use it!

?

This product is great for netbooks and other small devices. (don't try to use this for supplementing your car's heating with a electric 1000W heater)

unfortunately I have kids who like to press things just as they get out.

And it's happened with 3 different cars now over the years, Nissan Primera, Renault Scenic and Subaru Forester. Our latest car a Legacy has survived a night with the int light on, so perhaps it's just age of vehicle and thing have improved. But seriously how long will it last and how do you tell your battery is not going to go capput after kids bash away on PS2 for a day.

Depends, my car has 2 sets of roof lights (1 to 3 lights on in each), door lights and floor lights, that's potentially 14 x 5 w bulbs in each, though more realistically it's just 10. Mine also automatically turn off to protect the battery, but not all cars think like that. That's 70 watts. A small car may have a 50 Amphr battery (though for a car with as many lights as mine, 90 is more reliastic), for a small car that means about 7 hours as an estimation until the lights mean that the car has a very low chance of starting, or about 10-11 hours for the large car. These are estimations as the battery might not start the car when discharged as much as my assumption, and equally they might start with less power too.

You couldn't plug this directly into a cigarette lighter for draws above about 100 W simply because most car cigarette lighters are fused (and therefore wired) for about 10 amp.
