Designed to improve the wrist muscles, simply set the inner section spinning, rhythmic circular hand and wrist movements not only maintain the rotation, but also make it steadily faster. Increased in centrifugal forces make it harder to keep hold adding resistance to your wrist thus making you stronger.
Not only is this a great exercise for your wrist, it is also extremely addictive as it incorporates a high score system.

The perfect instrument to gently rehabilitate lower forearm and wrist joints affected by carpal tunnel syndrome, repetitive strain injury, arthritis & previous breakage

Just a quick question - do these things hurt your shoulders too? I was going to buy one for a friend but he has damaged his shoulders reallly badly so I just wondered if they were suitable!

they don't have to hurt at all, you can use them at your own pace and they help build your muscles, they only tend to hurt if you over exert yourself (ie trying to get to over 10,000+), may i suggest a quick google and read a few reviews

I only wish they made a similar product for legs!

Thanks, I may give it a go!
BTW - They do do an adapter you can strap to your legs : http://www.lovepowerball.co.uk/products.php?page=9
