These are not just fun to use, but are absolutely great for RSI.

Particularly if you work at a keyboard for long hours.

Just do 10 minutes or so every couple of days and you will notice the difference.

Probably because they work the "deep" tissue and tendons, those that are very prone to RSI.

Yeah , thats the one I ordered aswell but thru a different post, and It was ordered just b4 19th dec - still waiting

Fantastic fun! There are many cheaper copy ones around, but I decided to go for the real one (glad I did). It really is very addictive.

Are these even remotely good for building up your wrists at all? Even slightly? My wrists are probably a bit thinner than I'd like ;o

Yes, I ordered one at the time that offer was posted but later assumed I wouldn't get it. But then I got an email on the Sunday after Boxing Day to say it had been dispatched, and I received it last Tuesday.

250Hz is just the standard Powerball, they are all 250Hz unless specified (there are 350Hz models available).

The "Pro" is just the counter LED on the side to give you a readout of what speed it's reaching.

I have the powerball - tried one of these science museum ones & it's not as good, the black rubber band around the middle (helps with grip) is just black plastic on the science museum one. It also didn't feel as robust. I'd stick to the original.

I ordered mine from Play (early Dec I think) and then they put the price up and did not seem to be honouring the £9.99 price (Play cs were saying no stock and suggesting people cancel orders). In any case I kept my order on their system and it finally arrived just after Christmas.

Thx for the replies graham2k8 and roysterdoyster

Mine came pretty quickly from Play before Christmas at £9.99

Only had a quick go, but thus far I've only managed to achieve a score in the hundreds rather than the thousands....

I ordered one couple of months ago and still waiting from Play

Anybody had better luck?

I've got one and the force that it exerts on you is amazing and you turns your hand so slowly and it spins so fast...lost all 4 of the start chords though
#31
Yeah, it's very hard to explain the feeling of using one, but while this will sound strange, as you rotate it faster in your grip, you hold the black plastic strip with your fingers like a 'claw' grip, and the gyroscope inside moves faster. As it speeds up, I think (note may not be genuine physics!) the centrifrgul force builds up, and pushes 'outwards' far more than the actual weight of the ball, needing more grip and more effort to keep both hold of and control of the ball.

At first they're really annoying, as you'll start it up...and flail around trying to speed it up only to hear it wind down and stop, but eventually you'll just get the knack, and 'feel' the gyroscope go off balance and then you can start builiding up speed.

I found you actually have to go a lot slower than expected at first, after yanking the 'chainsaw' start cord. I also can't for the life of me do any of the 'no string' starts yet, even after watching youtube videos explaining how.

Essentially, if you like gadgets, and think your hands and arms could use a lil more work, go for it.

you can get replacements from eBay, just look for powerball strings or cords..

I got the signature model when it was £12.99, It glows a cool white color and has a wrsit strap as well. having the counter shows you how well you have improved and is always a motivation to try harder.

..and as far as RSI is concerned, have a look on amazons reviews and you will read many comments about how it has helped them with this problem..

not too hard to start it without using the other hand (guess you can too as you dont say its unusable^^) never could do it with the thumb of the hand holding it as some can though
wish the thing was a bit smaller though - its alot easier to keep a good grip with a large hand giving alot easier time getting faster speeds.
