Good price but throws up some questions. Wonder if the usb 3.0 charges any faster if your device isn't a USB 3.0 device or if it reverts to USB 2.0 to charge them?
Interestingly there's no mention of what the output amperage is (most powerbanks show 1.0A/2.0A/2.1A etc so what is the output of the USB 3.0 socket

where is usb3 coming from? Qc3 is a feature of some phones sporting the qualcomm snapdragon Cpu, and means that the charge id outputted at a higher voltage and lower amperage. Qc 3 is 25% faster than Qc2 which is 75% than standard charges. your phone has to support it though.
If you want to talk Usb, both usb 2 and 3 output at 5v but usb2 is 500mah and usb3 is 900mah, so neither are as good as a normal wall charger.

Nor sure what Snapdragon is mines an S7 Edge
900mah seema way below what my current charger rated at 2A charges at (A vs. mah???)

Sorry, my bad. mah is the measurement of the capacity of the battery. I should have used mA (1/1000 of an A).

Samsungs have a different chip, but the technology has been licensed so they are quick charge compatible but call it something else. I could tell you whether its Qc2 or Qc3 though without looking it up, but Qc3 is backwards compatible.

2.1A is high for a standard charger and will chsrge quicker than a 1A obviously, as long as your phone can take the current. most power banks will 'check' with the phone to see what they can safely support before putting out the charge.

Actually most power banks are quite dumb, if a power bank can supply let's say 2.1/2.4A but a device only wants a max 1A it is the devices charging circuit that will cap the charge rate to 1A. With lithium batteries charging too fast is a serious fire risk hence devices should regulate themselves.

Even Quickcharge power supplies are fairly dumb. Although they can alter the voltage throughout the charge cycle it is again the connected device that dictates this voltage.

Does this fast charge the s7 Edge. I believe the s7 Edge is qualcomm quick charge 2.0?

I know that 1A barely trickle charges the phone whereas the 2 1A charger is much faster (Samsung evem put a rocket blasting off when plugged into the fast charger) so was wondering how the USB 3.0 on the Anker product compares to the fast 2.1A that I'm currently using but if the USB 3.0 is only 0.9A then it's going to be far slower?

I still dont get where your getting ubs3 from? its quick charge 3. The S7 Edge probably is only Qc2 but Qc3 is backwards compatible so will be quicker than 2.1A.

i agree. hence why the device your charging had to be quick charge compatible. Unless you start talking about dash charge and the magic circuitry is in the chargers.

From the blue coloured USB port (hence USB 3.0) on the Anker charger to the left of the port next to it marked "IQ"

Did anyone eventually get any of the free/promotional links that ankler were promising on their FB page a while back? Remember there were some threads for it
