#4
Thanks for the code ordered one!

#16
I bet that it has got a cheap and nasty Chinese engine in it.

read description guys.

Plastic chassis - not nice and this will be next to impossible to get parts for but an annual service will cost £65 so arguably you could afford to replace it each year!
#19
SAE 30 is what you need
Its the same type that the old air cooled beetles use.
B&Q have cheap bottles their own brand also the B&Q spark plugs are much cheaper than the branded ones FYI..
#20
guessing this will be similar quality to the argos one, had my argos one for a while now and works a treat! hot
#21
Thanks frownbreaker, that's what I needed to know. And, Nailez, petrol and oil are different things.....

would you rather have an expensive leaky british engine?

You would be better off buying £65 woth of lottery tickets.
You get what you pay for really shines with lawnmowers.
These cheap Chinese mowers enter rapid self destruct mode minutes after
first use.

Had an Argos one for 12 years paid around £100 for it-thrived on neglect, plastic deck has been absolutly no problem. one oil change and thats been about it. If this is half as good I won't cmplain.

Great price, thanks! Looks like 3% Quidco too - which actually features the above £15-off code I think, so you should get both.

Not sure how useful the dismissive comments are above, unless they're genuinely about this particular model. The Reevoo link on the product page suggests an average score of 8.5/10 from 288 reviews, so that's probably more reliable than someone with an axe (lawnmower?) to grind...

I have one, works great, who cares what engine it is, its a lawnmower!! it cuts my grass fine..
1 The collector is bit of a pain as the grass needs some motivation to leave..
2 It only has one speed.. on
3 Adjustable heights are good
4 mine starts everytime...
5 you need to buy some oil for it...

Most premium products have components sourced from China. Indeed many "high end" products like those from Apple Computer are 100% Chinese manufactured. Toyota race engines come pre-built from a plant in China as to some 70% of VW gear boxes, and all electric ovens from Neff, , Smeg, Bosch have fans made in China. The UK produces some of the best engines in the world, though not in the quantity that China and many other countries now do. I have a Mountfield (£100 odd from B&Q) it is a UK brand made in France with a Honda Engine (not sure where the engine is made or assembled).Vietnam and Sri Lanka and part of India are now the source of consumer product where labour costs are the lowest. Korean labour costs are > than the UK.

In terms of longer-term reliability these are some tips:

*the lawn mower runs for the first few uses, if not call and go through the checks, if this does not work return it
*it is kept dry,
*the fuel is not allowed to go stale (>8 months)
*it is never tipped over so the oil spills into the air filter (just replace the filter if this happens)
*plugs and oil are checked
*fuel stop is engaged when not in use
*fuel tank is topped up (reduces vapour loss ageing)
*oil is not overfilled (check the dips stick on level ground)

It should be fine as it is not a super high tolerance race engine.

It's a lawnmower and the parts will come from a global supply chain. Tesco is a tier 1 retailer and will source aggressively, which is why we can purchase some much stuff from sites like this!!

The country of origin has no direct bearing on the quality of this mower and yes the low end mowers like this unit do lack the high end features of other units. But for £65 it is an excellent deal from a retailer that is offering free delivery for in store collection, warantee and it has good reviews

I bet they don't last for 2 seasons, Tesco do not give a toss about quality, they still sell their nasty Technika TV's to the gullible.

Just ordered one. Will see....have heard bad things about cheap mowers. But then again, I've been trying to buy a 2nd hand one and cannot find anything for less than £40-£50. If it breaks and you cannot get bits, that's when the problems start.
#34
Note: NOT self propelled - you have to push it!
#35
Gutted paid £99 from b&q last week, good lawnmower for the price.

Totally unhelpful comment. Pure, blind prejudice with no supporting evidence.

Better going for a quality product, this mower is excellent ,self propelled from a uk company. Elsewhere the price is way over £200.In fact on the lawnflite site its £279.
http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.207-9697.aspx In fact with code its £157 + £5 postage.
Code expires today folks.

More helpful than your comment.

Buy this rubbish at your own peril.

Buy a decent mower, it will last for years.

If your budget's 2-3 times as much then it probably is a bargain... though worth noting it doesn't actually score as well on user reviews! (People will expect more for the price bracket I guess.)

Oh dear... Love it when people criticise yet get it utterly wrong themselves.
