I've just had this delivered and thought it was worth putting on here.
I have two Zxycel 85mbps adapters now that work great, but needed another one to put in the garage where the reception from my wireless signal is sporadic. I've been on Ebay and the Netgear equivalent sometimes goes for about £30 delivered (second hand). On Ebuyer and the like, that goes up to more like £50, so these seemed a real steal.
Just plugged it in and its worked fine out of the box. The Powerline adapters are supposed to talk to all makes and models (as long as they're the same speed) so if you've got a 85mbps adapter now and want a remote one on the cheap, with a 4 port switch to boot, these are a good option.
4-port 10/100 switch combined with powerline technology
Use the mains wires to send networking signals - no need to lay Ethernet cables throughout the house
Converts Ethernet to a signal that transmits through the power circuit
Extend your network to areas wireless signals cannot reach
Up to a 200m transmission distance
Single unit to go alongside other powerline products, purchase single Powerline plug to connect to multiple computers
This is truly the easiest way to network your house or office. Simply plug one HomePlug into a mains socket and another within the house to create a network. This switch will convert the powerline into four Ethernet sockets, ideal for offices. You''ll no longer have wireless signal problems or have to drill holes in walls and ceilings to feed the Ethernet cable.
Note - surge protectors may reduce or stop the operation of powerline products.
