PowerLogic 1600dpi Laser Mouse (wired) - £2.99 delivered off Ebay... (bitmoreproducts)
I play a lot of games on my laptop. My five year old Tesco optical mouse is showing its age these days and doesn't react fast enough is certain gaming situations. I originally wanted a Logitec M6880 laser mouse (£9.99 delivered off Amazon) but saw this Powerlogic Zen III laser mouse recently on Ebay at £4.99 and thought that looks okay. Just looked again and it's only £2.99 delivered. It's 1600 dpi, it's laser, it's blue so I thought why not give it a go. It might be rubbish. I'll add a short review to this post as and when it arrives.

Jump to unread Post a CommentDelivery was quick. It arrived four days after ordering it arrived. Packaging was minimal but quite adequate. There's no driver disc but as soon as I plugged it it, it loaded it's own driver. I use Windows 7 64 bit and the driver seems to be working well.
The mouse is noticeably very smooth to move around on the mouse mat. Silky smooth compared to my old Tesco mouse.
On screen, the mouse also moves very smoothly. I had problems with my old mouse playing Call Of Juarez. The mouse couldn't quite 'fine tune focus' on certain points I wanted to shoot at. You could get it to focus but it might take two or three goes for the mouse to find and lock onto the point. The PowerLogic mouse has no such problems and I suspect this is exactly what the 1600dpi laser capability is supposed to do for you.
If I have one beef it's that ideally I'd like the mouse to be a bit bigger, a bit heavier and a bit better rounded to fit in my hand. However for £2.99 (including delivery!) you can't complain and I'm sure I can get used to the size with time.
Overall I'd say this was a good budget buy laser mouse
