Call of Duty: Black Ops
The biggest first-person action series of all time and follow-up to last year's blockbuster Modern Warfare 2 returns on November 9, 2010, with Call of Duty: Black Ops

Call of Duty: Black Ops will take you behind enemy lines as a member of an elite special forces unit engaging in covert warfare, classified operations and explosive conflicts across the globe. With access to exclusive weaponry and equipment, your actions will tip the balance during the most dangerous time period mankind has ever known.

Call of Duty®: Black Ops will also be playable in stereoscopic 3D!

Call of Duty®: Black Ops will be compatible with 3D-ready HDTVs and 3D PCs utilising state-of-the-art active shutter 3D glasses, delivering true depth of field and an unprecedented level of immersion that is perfectly suited for the Call of Duty action experience.

But don't worry if you haven't got a 3D TV yet - the game will be playable in non-3D as well!

Call of Duty: Black Ops Features:

Cinematic Single-Player Campaign. An epic campaign and story that takes you to a variety of locations and conflicts all over the world where if you are caught, captured or killd, your country will disavow all knowledge of your existence.
Signature Multiplayer. Call of Duty's signature multiplayer gameplay returns with new perks and killstreaks, deeper levels of character and weapon customisation, and all new modes including: Wager Matches - One in the Chamber, Gun Game, Sticks and Stones, Sharpshooter; Theatre Mode - View, record and edit your favourite moments from multiplayer, and share with your friends; Combat Training - Test your skills solo or Co-Op with friends against AI enemy players.
Zombies! Fan favourite Zombie mode is back, providing endless hours of zombie slaying entertainment, solo or Co-Op.

to be fair every deal that has come out involving black ops has gone very cold, still seems expensive for a pc title, but saying that havnt seen cheaper

Yeah I noticed that, but £29.99 instead of £39.99 seams like a fair price.

Was only a few years ago that £17.99 was a common price for a new release PC title... greedy publishers!

There are about 10 other companies doing it at a slightly cheaper price http://www.find-games.co.uk/25445-Call-of-Duty-Black-Ops.htm#B0036ORNUW

I cancelled my Tesco order yesterday [was a £5 discounted deal] because I too think it will probably be even cheaper come nearer release date.

For a change - buying it on 360 seems the better deal ... you pay £40 (hopefully less from the supermarkets), play it for a week or two - get bored and trade it in for £25 ... only costs you £15. Whereas with the PC version, you pay £30 and can't trade it in ...

I used to pre-order 2 or 3 games a month when they were £18. Then when the price jumped to £25-£30 I stepped off the train - i've bought one £25 game in 18 months, and the rest I wait a week or two and pick them up for sub £20. However, given this waiting time, i'm able to read reviews and comments and avoid the duffers I used to pre-order. The end result is that I spend a lot less money on games now.

If they had put the price up to ~£20, I would have probably continued to pre-order lots of games - but it's all about what you deem to be value for money. I have found that CoD, MW, etc are just overhyped, and basically the same game as CoD4, just with new model skins. So for me, it just isn't worth it.

The other problem is that non AAA games try and charge the same as AAA - and add to this the DRM on most PC games, its becoming more and more difficult to justify buying PC games on release, but at least they depreciate in value very quickly.

I still prefer games on PC - ability to run mods, resolution, keyboard & mouse, etc ... I just wish that pricing was a bit more sensible.
