Looks expensive for what it is?
Is there a freeview HD tuner, or at least a record function?

You might also want to check out the Asus O!Play HD2 if you're after a media player. Not great looks but functionality if you want streaming is superb, plus it's only ~£109.

Also very similar to the Xtreamer which comes in at 99euros.

I've tried the Boxee software on a Pc and hated it, I'd recommend you download and try before you buy.

I also tried XMBC on a Pc and loved it, and it was free, I just loaded it on my existing PC.

Spend a couple of quid more and get a popcorn hour - pointless buying this at such a high price when a lot of emdia players do the same thing for a lot less...cold from me.

i have been waiting patiently for the asus hd2... now i need the cash for the hardrive but i think its the best option out there.

I like the look of the A.C.Ryan Playon!HD with remote freeview recording among the usual functionality. If only it had Freeview HD I'd be on it!

I respecfully disagree with everyone who doesn't like Boxee.

I've been a Boxee user for few years and I love it to bits and was eagerly waiting for the box to come out.

Initially I thought @£199 they must be taking the **** and I actually decided to go for a Western Digital Live HD box (bought from Amazon @£82.99), which I found extremely limited compared to Boxee and will send it back to Amazon this week. I have also looked at the O!Play HD but Boxee still wins hands down.

Whether you like Boxee or not, I'm voting hot for the deal as it'is £199 everywhere so if you're going to buy it anyway this will save you ~ £15, hence the heat.

Why what?:
1. Why I think Boxee is expensive at £199?
2. Why I bought the WD or why I returned it? or why I find it extremely limited?
3. Why I think Boxee wins hands down against the O!Play?

you can compare media players here:

http://www.iboum.com/net-media-players.php

the boxee can handle dts hd where as the wdtv can't.

I thinks I'll be going for this: http://www.iboum.com/pr/egreats1a.php

Which looks as though it can handle pretty much anything you can throw at it.

Costs £105 inc uk delivery....
