Another example of a "Heads-up" thread for a pending offer without any clear information about the content.

It is not a pending offer. You pay now for it and if you do you get it at a lower price than when it goes live. That is a deal. The deal is it is a mystery box. You know the amount of games and the price.

The selection (read: quality, subjective usefulness or, if you wish, validity as a "Deal" to any individual member) is still pending; that is the point.

How can you determine if the items in the bundle are going to be worth anything to you, if they are currently a 'mystery'?

I think this site would be better if there were no comments and people just clicked Hot or Cold.

You can't. It is a gamble. That is the deal. You know how many games and when it is released. You take that risk. Again that is the deal. When it goes live it costs more. You pay less to take the risk. Like the Square Enix Mystery Box.

Oh god I was going to buy then you reminded me of the square mystery. Got it last year and I had every game. Was gutted. Oh well we live and learn.

Buy!

That sounds like a ridiculous premise to which voting is applied.

At the moment, you do not know what specifically is on offer, & whether the price is actually going to be favourable (to anybody, some members, or everybody).

If gambling appeals to you, then contact a turf accountant, or a casino.

To you maybe. To be fair that doesn't really matter. The voting shows it is appreciated by others and a deal they wanted to see. Any pre order is a gamble even if you know the name of the product.

Why ? They hand out Steam keys now ?

7 Steam games & 1 Greenlight. 2 Bonus games & extras for £1.28. On release it will cost more. Whichever way it will be great value. The risk you are taking is if the games included you dont have or are your taste.

Thanks OP, I'd not heard of the latest reserve bundle. Would have missed it otherwise. Merry Christmas :)

And after typing this, I'm off to buy the bundle with a smile on my face then spend the day with the Mrs and kids, not waste the day/my life trying to convince others that apparently it's not worth buying the bundle! Bye!

People buy scratch cards for friends and family as filler presents. I don't see how this is different, except you're guaranteed to get something with this.
Another classic case of someone voting cold because the deal doesn't apply to them then making a giant fuss. It's just over a pound..

The ability to sell people "nothing" for the "possibility" of something is no longer a trick of the insurers. I wonder how build a bundle would feel if we all started saying to them "Look here now, bring out a bundle now and give it to us, and later we will give you some money and if you do it now, the money we pay you might be a nice amount". LOL if only.

in b4 the "nya nya they're not forcing you to buy it" folks haha.

What's up? Do you need to borrow a quid?.

How about you lighten up and stop with the negativity?. If this offering doesn't grab you just vote cold instead of moaning about a deal that someone has bothered to post with the sole purpose of helping the community.

Jay, unfortunately there's no helping some mate ;)

It is not about moaning about a single thread; it is about establishing clear objectives with a set of guidelines for everybody to understand, then follow (as the site's take on this presently is, unfortunately, anything goes as long as a revenue is generated).

jay' & I (as well as a few other regular contributors) have been discussing this in various "Feedback" threads (recently).

As long as the primary objective of being informed of a potential deal isn't forgotten then ;)

Fukubukuro, a LONG standing HUKD tradition, so yes this is indeed a 'deal'.

Does anyone know what the deal is with the 'Mystery Game' - is it revealed at a later date?

Cheers.
