Released 25th March

In Crysis 2 on Xbox 360 the world has been ravaged by a series of climatic disasters and society is on the verge of total breakdown. Now the aliens have returned, wit a full invasion force bent on nothing less than the total annihilation of mankind, starting by trying to rip the heart out of Earth's most iconic city.

In New York, terrifying alien invaders stalk the streets and a nightmare plague strikes down the city's myriad inhabitants with brutal epidemic speed. The city's systems are in chaos, its streets and skyline are smashed and in flaming ruin. This is New York City like you've never seen it before.

Neither paramilitary law enforcement nor the might of the US military machine can stand against the invaders, and all who choose not to flee are dead men walking. Just to survive in this maelstrom of death will require technology beyond anything any modern soldier has ever seen.

One man will inherit that means to survive. One supersoldier, wielding the combat enhancement technology of the future with Nanosuit 2, will make the last stand to save humanity from destruction in the urban jungle that is New York City.

Crysis 2 for Xbox 360 features:

New York New York: set the visual benchmark for PC games that still stands today. Crysis 2 will redefine the benchmark on console and PC platforms, shifting their attention to the rich urban jungle of New York City.

Amazing Aliens and AI: Challenging best-in-class AI with unique group coordination and group behaviour systems which give realistic responses to your actions.

Nanosuit 2: Adapt your combat tactics by customising your Nanosuit and weapons in real time with revised modes, unlocking a variety of supersoldier abilities.

Multiplayer: World-renowned multi-player shooter studio Crytek UK is going to reinvent multiplayer with the dynamic intensity of Nanosuit 2. By using Nanosuit technology the player has nearly unlimited ways to approach the dynamic combat environment.

totally don't get all the people saying the demo was pants I thought it was awesome! seemed to steal enough from cod and halo and put its own stuff in, plus I am so bored of halo and cod, halo 3 and reach were the same, and cod has been the same idea since modern warfare.

Now Battlefield Bad Company 2, that's a different story entirely.... (in a good way!)

Besides the point, good deal op!

*DONT READ BELOW IF YOU DONT WANT TO KNOW THE RECENT OXM REVIEW SCORE FOR CRYSIS*

Just a heads up for everyone. I subscribe to the Official Xbox 360 Magazine and got the delivery of the latest issue today. They have given Crysis a solid 9/10. I wont go into any further details so I dont spoil anyone's read but suffice to say, there were very few negative points - single and multiplayer.

I personally prefer not to read much into official reviews as they tend to be slightly biased over unoffical ones. Might pick up the game as looking for something new since I got rid of black ops

Managed to preorder this at the EA store a while ago for £25 (PS3 version). I am expecting the single player to be very good, but not too sure about the MP element. I believe there is a PS3 demo coming shortly, so I will be looking forward to trying that out (particularly as the PS3 is the lead console platform, for a change).

Pay no attention to reviews from mags like OXM, they are not likely to be unbiased when all they want to do is sell thier consoles/games.
#20
all previous game on the pc are great, nearest xbox games i guess is gears of war but its style is more like half life

Bear in mind the game is multi-platform so they arent just biggin' up a big microsoft exclusive (which can sometimes inflate scores). Most of their scores I do agree with actually so I would take this with more than a pinch of salt.

I wouldn't pay any attention to online gaming magazine reviews, they will always say games like cod for example are awesome, even though we all know how crap black ops turned out to be.

This one happens to be a magazine and not online.

I find with online reviews, you can most trust cvg, eurogamer and (if you are willing to wait a little longer) Amazon reviews from the people that buy it!

I much preferred black ops to MW2, the story was something slightly different for a change at least, I didnt think I would though hence only bought it last week after saying I had had enough of them and wouldnt buy it, glad I did on hindsight, this was on the PC mind you.

Crysis 2 on the other hand has sold out, this is nothing like the first one, if I want to jump around the place like an idiot I play Halo, if I wanted a bit more of a thinking mans FPS with a slower pace and fantastic visuals, I played Crysis, now it has been assimilated into HALO/COD territory it has lost a lot of its original charm. Shame. Good price though, but I wont be buying it for a good few months yet, not saying it wasnt fun, just that I have another 6 games like it at the moment to play.

most EA games drop in price very quickly would be 25 quid in no time imo

Ordered... though this looks to be the most expensive game I've ever bought. Hopefully it'll be worth it.
