  Apparently It is so they can base the AI on how it was in 2012 and any changes made in 2012 will be in the 2012 game. I suppose Fifa is a little more guess work.

  They want to have accurate car and driver performance so they need to wait a few months, otherwise it would be complete guesswork which is impossible to do with F1.
