Next best price: £8.85

"Wasting Light" is the eagerly anticipated seventh album from alternative rock royalty gods the Foo Fighters, as it is their first release in four years.
The album's title is taken from the lyrics of the new song "Miss The Misery", and includes the new single "Rope", a melodic guitar riff focussed slow building storm of a song, showing off Grohl's distinctive throaty vocals.

Went to see their docu-flick at the cinema last night - pretty interesting and cool stuff. After the film, they then showed a live, uninterrupted studio session where they performed every track from the new album back to back. Awesome stuff ! Defo on my shopping list next week !

streamed it from their site the other morning - some very good tracks.
was going to mp3 download it - but this is as cheap as some of the mp3 sites!

Not happy with Zavvi... already pre-ordered this from them at £8.95. Says they've already despatched. Still... heat added.

Heat added, listened to the album and all I can say it is their best album to date even better than the colour and the shape album which was awesome.

The songs I've heard so far are great. For me, this is the most anticipated album release this year.

Great price too, but I just don't do CDs any more.

Hot price! Heat added.
I've pre-ordered it from The Hut for £7.96 with a discount voucher. May order this and send that one back but probs not worth the hassle for a 93 pence!

Rope is the best single they've put out since the 'learn to fly' days hope it's the return to form it suggests it being.,,

Me too! It was amazing!! Had the songs stuck in my head all day, and can't wait to see the doc again. Lucky people in the states get to see it tonight on VH1... :(

I had a sense of dread when I heard Rope, thought we were going to get an album of similar to the last couple but actually the new album is outstanding, ranks as one of their best for sure.

Still to make up my mind up on that score. Colour and Shape is by far my fave Foo's album, but we've been blasting the stream out at work for a few days and it's definately a MIGHTY fine album - definitely their most consistent since Colour.

Good post too OP ;)

I saw it in Cheshire Oaks last night as well, superb from start to finish, the only thing I have to be picky about was the way the gig part was shot in a kinda faux 3d (no glasses) where the mics etc were really prominent in the image but everything behind blurred a touch - would have rathered it in HD style - hoping its all released on Bluray soon as it was utterly brilliant.. Album is great as well!

You're not wrong - hence Shifty's "Heeey, check out my guitar neck" action at the start.

Got my copy today (from HMV), chuffed! Bit sad it's a cardboard sleeve rather than a jewel case though.

Got mine today :D anyone else got a bit of tape in the CD sleeve? Apparently it's a cut from the master tape.

I was just coming here to post about that. I threw mine away because I had no idea what it was oO Just fished it out of a (clean) box in the bin though, so it's all good now.
