Worth buying an Xbox for this alone.

Based on Master Chief Collection I have absolutely zero faith in 343i delivering a game that works.

This would have been a day one Purchase for me, being such a huge halo fan. However After the absolute shambles of a launch the Master Chief collection had, I will not be buying this day one and instead will wait to see If the game actually works and then perhaps il jump aboard.

I agree with you 100%. H:MCC killed my excitement for this game.

343 could almost be considered a "super group" in the game development world. It's not that they aren't talented, it's just the landscape of the industry at the moment. Push a game out to meet the holiday season, even if it's not ready yet.

Ubisoft are doing it. Rockstar did it. It doesn't mean you shouldn't have faith that they can make good games.

Same as others, HMCC has put me off getting this and no doubt it will have for a lot of others too. I got mine on launch day, really wish I hadnt parted with my cash and especially ful price, I would have waited for near enough bargain bin prices.

Actually gone off pre-ordering altogether with recent AAA titles being riddled with bug/glitches, immediate price drops etc, whats the point?

Awesome deal, loved MCC and sure I will love this too.
Hopefully Amazon will bump early orders up to a limited edition too.

I agree that it doesn't necessarily have anything to do with their skills as developers, but where does it stop? Are we going to keep effectively legitimising this greedy publisher tactic of releasing unfinished games by buying them on day one? If people had a little more patience and held off until a game's major patch is released, the publisher would see the delay in sales and may act accordingly.

Do Amazon charge for pre-orders straight away or close to release please?

After the Super Smash Bros cock up, I'll never be pre-ordering a game from Amazon ever again.

Charged only once game is dispatched.

Considering how inconsistently The Halo MCC runs (more like 45fps) I'd be very sceptical about that 60fps claim. Not to mention Halo MCC is a train wreck. The patches they've released haven't made much difference.

Halo 5 is a whole year away from release yet anyway and will likely be available in the £30-35 region by then. Why pre-order something so early? Especially when the developer has a very patchy record with such a beloved IP? Halo 4 was rubbish compared to 3 and Reach and then they **** up a simple remaster of old games. Based on that information this is cold from me.

4 games for the price of 1 plus the ability to switch between old and new graphics on the fly. I'm impressed with it, plenty of value in there.

Amazon charge when the item has been dispatched
They will not charge you for a pre order straight away

example: If this Game comes out on a Monday amazon will dispatch on either the Friday or Saturday before and charge your account that day

Agreed. Annoying that Game had the exclusive limited edition for slightly less than I paid for the standard game only a few weeks previous..... Wouldn't of minded if everything was working perfectly.

It's obvious that the Halo Collection was green lit after that shambolic reveal. MS basically took a dump on the family silver. Such a great opportunity ruined & has made me delay buying the console till Scalebound in 2016 (the console & game will be £150 by then thankfully).

It is not just 343....it's a problem across the industry at the moment. We as the paying customers should do the only course of action that will make the companies take a step back and ensure the shipped game works from day one. And that is to stop preordering games and handing them our money before the game is released.

We should start holding them to a certain standard, when the game ships, if it works properly then you can have my money but not until the evidence is there.

Preordering is a bit naff anyway really, it's not like games actually sell out and rarely is the preorder price that much cheaper or the 'bonus day one crap' that is included actually enrich the game.

My comment made no mention of value - but rather quality. On the surface yes, this bundle does represent good value. But when the quality of the game(s) is as bad as it is (campaign progress routinely deleting itself, inconsistent framerate, tearing, general bugs and glitches, poor matchmaking) then I see no reason to support such a product. Two of these games are 13 (Halo) and 10 (Halo 2) years old don't forget, so for them to suffer from so many performance issues on much more capable hardware is unacceptable. There's a reason why the package has dropped this low so soon. Everyone has traded their copy in and other potential buyers are put off by the non-existent matchmaking.

Isnt this just the RRP?
#26
I'm pretty much done with pre-orders given the broken messes we've been receiving lately (Unity, Driveclub, MCC) but if you were going to pre-order (and you shouldn't) 39 is an average price at best.
#27
I've voted cold because there's no way there aren't going to be cheaper pre-order details between now and release.

Yeah I get that, but it's not easier if you get delivered a game that doesn't work. It's frustrating and annoying.

Best thing anyone can do is wait a year before buying a released game. I loved mass effect, skyrim etc and i know if i had bought and completed on release i would have been disappointed. Let the other buyers be the beta testers, and then pick the game up for 1/4 what they paid. I know its hard on the xbone or ps4 as there is feck all decent really.
#32
Not worth preordering. Going to wait and see if it works. Whats the point in giving the gaming industry my money for a product that doesnt work properly. By the time its working fully will probably be a lower price anyway.

I got an Xbox One with Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Horrible. It also deleted my save progress on many campaign missions, wasting over five hours of my time too. Add that to only connecting to a few multiplayer games and I threw in the towel. Not just on the game but the Xbox itself. I mostly got it for Halo and other exclusives as I can play most multi-plat games on my PC.

I've been getting in contact with Game about a return. Let's just say due to Black Friday and Cyber Monday, their customer service is rather delayed.

rip master chief :(

Gta online was delayed for ages when gta came out and they still haven't given us the heists that they promised! Even though master chief collection online is still a bit of a mess, it's brought back so many memories playing through the campaigns! So I have faith for halo 5! Heat from me

Not to mention that the MCC was a multi-studio effort that required a lot of technical wizardry to get the whole package together like it is, with the original engines, original multiplayer, etc...

It's still no excuse for rushing out the game as it was, but the fault is more with publishers on these things. I think 343 are more than capable, but they still had a mammoth task on their hands with limited time in which to do it.
#38
cold.. standard price. not sure why people think the first glimpse of a pre-order constitutes a deal regardless of price
#39
Glad I didn't plump for Master Chief Collection and AC:Unity. Heat for the price but voting with my money by not buying it until certain issues are fixed with both games. Getting pretty tired of developers charging top dollar for half a product, I couldn't do it in my line of work so why is it acceptable for them to it?

Back to 44 now.
