Maybe it being 5 hours long single player they think people will play then trade
#7
looks pretty poo TBH nothing special or original at all, specially with kz3 out, hence the price in my opinion. Good price for pre release tho, surely make that back at trade in. heat.

Yeah at this price for a new release, you can easily blitz the single player then get you money back. Multiplayer uses an online pass though so that could reduce value of used copies?

Anybody seen any reviews for this yet?

this going to flop as someone mnetioned 5 hour campaign and then also its been said theyve bs'ed on the grpahics another generic shooter by the sounds of it

CoD4 had a 4-5 hour campaign mode....

Also, graphics aren't the most important thing in games, so we'll have to wait and see before criticising a game that isn't out yet ;)
#12
The previous game by this team, Frontlines, had ordinary grx but it had great playability.

This will be along the same lines.

Expect 8/10 reviews and something to keep you busy until BF3.

Who said that? :P There's only one review out at the moment and that's 9/10 from the Italian OXM.
#14
Saw a review link saying it got a 9/10 if you have low expectations and realise this will be in the middle of COD/BF:BC2 than it should be something a little different.

Just a heads up Homefront is developed by Kaos Studios who made Frontlines Fuel of War, which was another game that looked great but then flopped. While this does look better i cant help but feel like its going to go the same way.
#16
if u can clock any cod in 4-5 hours your need to be playing on veteran difficulty otherwise there is no point! (which is what i do)

its cheap due to it NOT being COD and they need to sell lots for the Multi-player to kick off. Its a loss win situation.

not everyone uses quidco, so not cold.

Theres to many games coming out and I have failed to catch up now! Seriously! dead space 2 then killzone 3 and this?? FFS :p
#21
Never used them before but they seem to want payment now rather than when dispatched like most companys. Is this correct ?
#22
What are they like for delivery?

Is bee.com better?

****WARNING***

I bought Mass Effect 2 (ps3) NEW from Grainger Games about a month ago and had terrible service.

Wasn't sent for 4 days even tho it was instock and only reason it was sent as I called there so called head office (a bloke standing in a warehouse with drilling goin on by the sound of it)

Finally when the game turned up the game WASNT sealed and had 3/4 finger prints on the disc!
Looked Pre owned tbh.

NEVER going to use them again and rather pay a couple more £££ to get from a respectable company

Thanks for confirming that - the trailers reminded me of Frontlines (remote control drones etc) but I never followed up on the developer.

I absolutely loved Frontlines - criminally underrated with a cracking campaign, innovative weapons and the multiplayer was fantastic fun, although despite the maps being huge they were a bit optimistic putting fighter jets in! That was kinda like trying to fly an RC aircraft in your living room oO

Anyway, despite the fact it will drop in price, I'm going to support the developer on this one because if it's anything like Fronlines I'll be more than happy and hopefully others will support an alternative to generic pap like COD.

Who really gives a monkey about the campaign?. Surely with this sort of game it's all about the multiplayer. I doubt I'll even play through the campaign if the multi is decent. My rule of thumb is rent singleplayer games and buy decent multiplayer games.
#26
Waiting for more reviews and player feedback.

Wish developers would start working on intriguing single player/Co-op campaigns again, pretty bored of endless COD multiplayer clones.
#27
Just phoned the Hyde store up to see if it the same price in store and they haven't got a price yet. Only 8 days off! Also couldn't tell me if you get any free DLC like most other retailers that pre order this. Great price for the online pre but rather collect from store.

I think that 99.9% of the people on HUKDs have heard of quidco and topcashback. This is a bargain and money saving site after all.
#29
Anyone know if the stores price match their own website? Got a few games I want to trade in and was looking at getting this anyway (there's very little out on 360 in March/February)
#30
NOT everyone uses quidco/tcb????? Why on earth NOT? And more importantly, WHY are you on a deals website IF saving money is not for you?

Ah well, back to the deal.......Cheap, so Heat given, but I dont trust Grainger games. I also got an opened package of a new release, admittedly it looked in mint condition BUT that's not the point. You pay for brand new, it should come brand new!
#31
A terrifying concept for a game, if it's done well then it could earn some critical acclaim. red dawn is an awesome film. the remake i'm unsure about so far, but melding a fps with this idea: spot on!
#32
I've also had similar experiences with opened boxes from them.

What they do is remove all packaging (and seals) and keep them stored outside of the boxes for some reason. When buying in store I refused three copies of a game because the disc didn't look perfect, much to their annoyance. There's no guarantee that the game hasn't been used (even quickly in store), and especially no guarantee that codes will still be inside. All it takes is one dodgy employee to remove a couple for friends, and because the seal is broken (removed by them) you have no protection.
#33
Edge Magazine (never heard of them) gave Homefront a 5 out of 10, but the same magazine gave Nintendogs a 7 out of 10 :S

Not everyone is into multiplayer fps where you need the reflexes of a striking mongoose to even survive. Some of us prefer a more leisurely saunter through a decent single player campaign with a bit of atmosphere e.g. HL2, Bioshock, Metro 2033

If this is anything like Frontlines which I enjoyed but wouldn't classify as a AAA title, then I think I'll wait for the price to drop to (say) around £14.99.

Nice concept, though. Wonder if you can get to play as the Koreans? oO

Only a few retailers are giving pre-order bonuses and it's GAME, Gameplay and Gamestation as far as I can see. No Play, HMV or Amazon. Not really DLC though, you just get a handful of weapons and gadgets unlocked early.

Edited By: Covert Recon on Mar 12, 2011 16:00: Added Gameplay to the list.

Was about to post the same thing , this game is all about its Multiplayer . The best ever FPS series Battlefield didnt even bother with campaign modes originally . It was over 12 months before i even touched the campaign in BFBC2 because the online is so good and my internet went off one day so i gave it a blast .

Also people are saying why is this so cheap ? Thats a normal online price to me , only a fool pays full price in shops . Or hang on even longer and get it even cheaper .
