Only CL6, but at this price still a bargain I think! :gift:

Thanks orciM, that's one amazing bargain :w00t:. Watch the heat on this skyrocket!

Heat & rep added

Wish I needed some DDR2 RAM.

Yes, no problem at all . Probably not for overclocking though if you're intending it for that purpose.

Thanks crossbow  didn't intend to overclock so just ordered 8gb

great deal pre orderd 2 thanks

Super bargain tks.

Great price - is it too good to be true? Have been looking for 4GB of quality DDR2 for my server PC for a while, and have jumped on this. The RAM spec isn't quite as good as it could be, as it is CL6, rather than the more common 5 or even 4, but this is unlikely to make one bit of difference in real life. I think it's likely to be a misprice, but if it comes good I'll be delighted. Heat and rep added.

fingers crossed - fantastic! heat added

No mention of CAS Latency - I assumed it would be CL5. Do you know for sure that it is CL6?
#11
Don't like the way when you click on goto deal on here(this deal only) it automatically adds it to your basket once you get to play that looks dodgy as hell.

http://www.valueram.com/datasheets/KVR800D2N6K2_2G.pdf

If you look at the data sheet for the ram you can see that it is indeed CAS6.

But 4gig for Kingston Value ram for that price is a crazy deal.

That's why I posted the non-add-to-basket link

Have requested a mod to change it.

What a deal. Well spotted! Heat and rep added! :-D (And ordered!) Thanks!

So so cheap heat added

This is a really good price. Play sometimes do this for pre-orders, hope they honour it, ordered 8gb. Should come in hand for my 64bit upgrade early next year.

CAS timings pay bigger benefits on AMD based setups, so not a major let down for me. If your going to overclock then you might get a little from it, saying that at this price you could afford to fry it!

Hi

following link is to my system requirements for DDR2 ram

http://www.crucial.com/store/listparts.aspx?model=Precision%20Workstation%20T3400&pl=Precision%20WorkStation&cat=RAM

Please advice if this ram will fit in my DELL :santa:T3400

Hello

Help please. :)

I have a Dell Dimension 5150 and I've run the scanner tool from Crucial to ascertain what's in my machine.

I have 4 slots (2 used with 512mb at the moment). It's suggests Each memory slot can hold DDR2 PC2-5300 with a maximum of 2GB per slot.

The says - 240-pin DIMM, DDR2 PC2-5300 memory module. Is this compatible being 5300 required????

Will this work? Appreciate your guidance.

Yes it will, however the PC2-6400 will run at the slower speed of your motherboard.

Either use Crucial's free online scanner tool.....

Or, if you know the motherboard make & model, let us know this. Use SIW to figure this out if required.

Chrisdeal;3848622
If your machine can only handle PC2-5300 then sadly PC2-6400 won't work.
No, I can confirm the others are correct. Will work, but at lower spec.

Go here and run the scanner it should give you the Crucial memory product that will work in your PC. Write the numbers down of the memory the site recommends and then post them here. also take a note of how many slots you have inside the PC, 2 or 4.

Heat added, great find.

Read in Hexus.net that RAM prices are expected to rise next year as manufacturers are cutting back on production.

Also, don't forget Quidco or TopCashback, plus the RAC discount code.

If it's indeed an Asrock ALIVENF6G-DVI, then shouldn't be a problem

Guys - thanks for advice. Ordered!

What is the 5300 versus 6400? Just a faster m/board? Effectively mine will run at 5300 when it arrives then.

Slightly faster yes, but I'm sure you won't notice it.

Some may need to change BIOS settings to get it running at 800Mhz speeds. Use CPU-Z > Memory tab (in Windows) to see the speed it's running at, amongst other things.

marnstars, unfortunately you won't be able to do this.
