Nope - Wikipedia shows it as starting tonight on BBC2, but it's wrong (now there's a first!). Can't come too soon.

Funny that curb your enthusiasm is just above this in the deals list, since this is a blatant rip off of it....still ok though

Excellent show!. 2 episodes available on BBC iplayer as we speak. (_;)

(these were from series 2/3 and broadcast at obscure places in the BBC)

Great. I just love this show - so understated - real squirm in your seat with embarrassment comedy rather than just a line of jokes. Anna Crilly is perfect as Magda, and I have to say I find Raquel Cassidy who plays Rick's wife incredibly sexy!

Granted, but goddamit it's English! These days, quality uk comedy with any degree of subtlety, is as rare as rocking horse doo dah.

Except Curb was created by one of the great comedy writers of the last 30 years, whilst this was created by a bloke most famous for beer ads.

Most famous for his beer ads? Maybe you need to watch a bit less ITV!

Streets ahead of Curb in every way. Americans just don't do comedy as well as we do, by and large. Lacking any sense of irony isn't a help.

No it isn't. It really, really isn't.

As for Americans and comedy, they do comedy much better than us. The notion that they don't understand irony is something that only idiots wanting to seem superior believe. It isn't limited to tv, but film, theatre and a great deal of literature too.

Oh dear, a no win situation here. In the end it's all down to personal taste isn't it? There is great stuff (and tons of dross) from both sides of the Atlantic. I enjoy both Curb and Lead Balloon but I don't feel the need to sit there comparing the two.

The show is so clearly influenced by Curb that comparisons are inevitable. :|

Spot on about Raquel Cassidy who was excellent in the early series of Teachers.

absa-bloody-exactly the number of times UK comedy is referred as being "too dry" for Americans to understand. Its a complete myth. "Dry comedy"; its just such a **** term. So is "they don't get irony". Not a lot of comedies contain "ironic" scenarios because it is too complex. Too many Brits with a superiority complex confuse it with "sarcasm" or "wit"

There were serious reports that Larry David had been cast in a BBC/HBO joint venture sitcom. Production timings unknown (as always, with these two) although the script didn't include Jack. 8)

OK - let's be fair. The Americans DO have a sense of humour after all. Not a patch on our comedy writers (or actors) but they did elect George Bush. And look at the popularity of Sarah Palin.

Only in America...........

I understand irony. I'll tell you what's ironic..
