Sorry, I forgot to include the deposit as I was in a rush to go out.

The deposit I pay'd was £6000 and that was at Glasgow.

Don't know why people are saying that you have to give the car back as if I mislead them, the whole point of personal lease hire is you hire car for 3 years and give it back.

That way, you don't lose depreciation if you were to own the car and sell it on your own, you would have no service and MOT costs, it works out cheaper as the reasons stated, also you can get the newer model after 3 years so you always get a new car after 3 years and don't lose any money.

Personal lease normally requires a down payment of a few thousand up front, then you lease it for a set period, followed by the option to have new car or pay off the outstanding credit on this one.

Need more info...
How many months payment upfront?
Over how many years?
Mileage limit?
etc

Then contact them on 08000 126 568 !!

No chance this is £179 per month for 3 years.
#11
just phoned, there will be a deposit.. chap is phoning me back once he finds out all the figures!
#12
I'm guessing there is a very hefty up front payment. It's £7,400 for a C-MAX that is £17.700 OTR.

Voted cold as OP's deal is very misleading. I call Evans Halshaw too and they also said there is a deposit to pay. They didn't know exactly but reckoned it would be between 20 and 30%. Will have this confirmed either way by sellsmart123 soon enough.

Its a lease, basically you are hiring a car

Well this is the deal (Just rang them)
£7500 Deposit
£179 for 24mths
Final Payment of £11438

Max miles a year 6000

Not such a good deal but a cracking car....Even the demonstrator isn't available till Sept :-)
#19
Yeah you aren't buying the car, you're just leasing it for 3 years and at the end of all that you have nothing to show.

So over 2 years that's £11,796 in deposit/payments for a max of 12,000 miles!

That's £1 per mile before petrol/insurance etc!!!

Ha ha ha ha ha.....

It always makes me laugh when I see these cheap lease deals advertised based on 6000 miles...

If you intend keeping the car then no problem, although in that case it'd probably be much cheaper just getting a loan and buying outright...

If its just a lease and hand back without any worries in a few years though.... Who TF only does 6000 miles a year? And if you do then you must have more money than sense to spend this much doing it.....

In summary... seemingly good deal but in reality, totally PAP!!

Am i mistaken here? they are basically giving you a car to drive around for 6 and a half grand for 3 years, after which they take it back off you ?

Well all being that you pay all the payments and the final payment, you get to keep the car... effectively its hire purchase, but you'll be paying £23,234 in total for it, and I can guarantee it wont be worth that in 2 years time.
#24
I was told £9000 for the deposit :-(

Contract hire is typically 36 months with 3+35 payment profile (3 months rental as deposit and the. 35 rental payments). Not always but thats normally the advertised option - also 10k miles is typical..

The fact there's such a large deposit and an optional balloon payment makes this PCP, not contract hire.

I'll bet you can find a real contract hire quote better than this if you shop around.

Cold.

8 grand deposit, chap didnt really know much, so he just put 179 a month into the personal lease calculator, 2 years,
so over 12 grand for 2 years rent....
better buying and selling it on after 2 years!

What a bunch of muppets if they quote four different people four different deposits for the same car!

They are muppets and that advert is very misleading. You could have a ferrari for £179 a month if your deposit was big enough.

Will be sending Advert to the Ad standards and FSA for review. This kind of thing does my head in. Not blaming OP - well spotted but car dealers with misleading prices.

Seriously? With a new car? What car do you drive... If you work out your costs per mile then I bet they would be through the roof....

Works out less than 40 miles a week.... you could walk those 40 miles a week and have a sh*t load more cash in your pocket.

I just got given my mothers 2001 Megane Scenic. Wait for it...........it has 27000 miles on it!!!

That's 2455 miles a year :p although it's got the parking dents and bumper scuffs of a 200k mile car :(

Do you never go anywhere?

I've done 4000 in the last four months. That's just personal mileage too, not counting work.

Not very far , family live 5 miles away, shopping and hubby goes to work 1 mile away.
God what a sad life I lead :(

Working out at only £6444!

Sorry, I forgot to include the deposit as I was in a rush to go out.

The deposit I pay'd was £6000 and that was at Glasgow.

So when you added that you forgot to add the deposit "I was in a rush" did it also escape your mind to change the £6444! to £12444! ????
And the £179 a month to £345.66 a month
Hmm - now that looks like a bargain oO

It is still £179 per month, the deposit is upfront and yes I forgot, are you perfect ? Do you always include every detail in everything you do ? No you don't, cause you are just as human as I am, stop wasting your time writing garbage and do something useful with your time.
