Thanks for this, great price! x

Will this also include John Lewis' usual 2 year guarantee? Great price either way, would always pay a little extra for stuff from John Lewis so if it's cheaper than most online shops - brilliant!

If I pre-ordered it would I get it on the launch date of Friday 25th March as it says "stock coming soon, expected delivery in 4 weeks" ??? It says free 1 year guarantee on the page by the way.

Good price.
For some reason, I'm paying £30 extra just so I can pick it up at Midnight.
I am aware I am a sadcase.

Why is it only on the blue?

I hadn't actually clicked on it, so thanks - just tried to look through their warranty info first - always the long way round! But on the buying page it also says: "Order by midnight Tuesday 22nd March to receive your Nintendo 3DS on the official launch date, Friday 25th March." So yes you should :D

cheapest price was £156 from Tesco also for the aqua blue one and the cosmic black was £160'ish from IWoot.
#10
Great, thank you, wondering whether to order one or not as I have one pre-ordered from IWOOT if you have seen that thread, I used the valentines code and if it goes through I could get one in aqua blue for £167.99, not sure what to do now, any ideas ??

Well if you can afford to potentially pay for both then get a refund on John Lewis if the code at IWOOT works, just return the one fro John Lewis to any store:

Under the Distance Selling Regulations, if you buy online or by phone, your consumer rights entitle you to a full refund if you request one in writing within 7 working days of receipt. This includes any delivery charge, but excludes the products listed as exceptions below.

good price although prefer the deals like amazon where you get a game cheap (think another shop was slightly cheaper but games no good for kids).....so amazon are 197 plus £15 for a game, so 212.......jl would be 190 plus 30 for the game elsewhere so 220

Great price! never had any problems with John Lewis!

the tesco one was cancelled/wont be honoured so not valid and i thought the iwoot one was cancelled too
#16
Yes, John Lewis are really great, I got my Nintendo DSi-XL from them when they first came out and have never had a problem with it, oh, what shall I do, everybody reckons that IWOOT will not honour the orders with the valentines code on anyway. I really want on of these.

Still far too expensive.

The IWOOT one still says order processing for a few of us, see the IWOOT thread about it.

because there were better deals to be had so people might want to wait, also there was that crazy Game offer where you could trade it back in iirc.

What is the deal with children's eyes on these units. I am told concern is for 6/7 year olds only, but children's eyes ares still developing beyond that age.

I shall be removing my children's eyes before letting them play it. They can have them back afterwards.

Me personally would only get it for 10 years and older. My daughter is getting one, she is 12 and I have already told her she will be limited playing the 3d games. I have tried the 3DS already and it is very weird on the eyes at first....

although good 3d effects when eyes adjust....

Now this is the sort of trouble Nintendo has got to deal with with this. It's NOT a DS. This is Nintendo's new handheld in the sense like the Gameboy Advance was from the Game Boy Colour and like the DS was from the Game Boy Advance. The NGP/PSP 2 is also on the way, which is Sony's next handheld and not another PSP. This is the next generation of handhelds.

Fair enough if you want to wait for the price to drop, but this is NOT another iteration of the DS like the DS Lite, DSi and DSi XL were. As for price, this has so many more features and updated tech to warrant it.

Ahhhh, I don't know whether to get one now or wait till Zelda gets released. They might release a special edition unit considering Zelda is 25 years old this year!!!

What does it do then to be worth £200 just 3D?

It has 2 arm 11 processors, and a dedicated graphics chip with custom shaders that can produce effects that are better than the Wii and close to DirectX10 / PS3 level. It has 4 times the NAND memory that the Wii has, meaning you can store more stuff downloads from things like the virtual console, or games from the upcoming eShop. You will be able to stream movies through Netflix (probably Lovefilm in the UK) and download 3d trailers. It has an analogue stick, gyroscope, accelerometer, IR sensor built in, and will have a web browser in an update in May.

This is akin to having something more powerful than a Wii in your pocket. Games will also come on carts that are between 2 and 8GB in size, which is currently the same size as the NGP is getting.

Massively improved graphics even in the 2D mode, Better online functionality in every regard, including automatic downloading of any free DLC for games you play when it's in it's charging dock + connected to WiFi

Depth Slider is like an analogue stick on a home console,so with it and the touch screen, expect strong FPS games, amongst others.

It's just a great great console.

Voted hot. Best price you can get atm for a 3DS. However it's a shame that there are no must have games at launch so I'm holding out until the summer.
