Good deal, preordered from Tesco, but my Quidco hasn't tracked yet :-S
#2
Played with one of these yesterday and suprised how good it actuall is. However gonna hold out until there are more games released as the current batch are more like tech demos. Good price tho.

there are so many deals on these things

I'm beginning to wonder if tendo have put a high price on this unique console and then dropping it to the original asking price make every1 belive they are getting a good deal.

nah surely they wouldn't

baaaa! where's the flock gone
#4
Best price so far.....have some heat!
#5
Hot for up front price - heat.

Better offer from Tesco Entertainment with a game though if your Quidco tracks, total= £188.37 delivered.
#6
can you order to collect in store? Or delivery only?

I currently live in The Netherlands, and I still haven't seen any shop that sold it below the 249 euro (approximately 215 pound) guide price. It really is quite a unique thing that the price wars on this console are so out of control in the UK, enjoy it while you still can.

Seems like a great price,
does anybody know what Asda are like with pre-orders ?
#11
It says Please note:
*All Pre-Orders will be charged at our Launch Price!

So if they bump it up to £199 at lauch that's what everyone is charged? :S
#12
They can't charge you more as surely when you order something at a certain price that's what you expect to be charged on your credit card. Charging more than initially agreed without your knowledge surely is theft?
#13
They had a big promotional booth type thing outside my work Friday night, and having time to kill I went and tested it out, see what all the fuss was about.

I don't get it. It was much worse than I expected and to be honest my expectations weren't at all high.

This is what I don't understand? Bet that most people who have pre-ordered one of these hasn't even seen a working one. It's like buying a 3D TV off the internet on blind faith without ever having visited a Currys/Best Buy etc.

Crazy I tells ya.
#15
Well i preordered one after having played one. I tried all the launch games & some games that are releasing later in the year and i think it's great. The 3D works great (if you can't see the 3d then it's your eyes not the console that has a problem). The only game that wasn't that good was Super Monkey Ball.
I'm willing to bet that most of the people saying the 3ds is crap will end up wanting to buy one when it sells out. Then they'll moan that Nintendo are creating false demand and should have had more stock ready when the same people could have preordered it like the rest of us. That or they will flock to ebay to pay a ridiculously high price just like with the wii.

I have seen the unit and I have preordered. It is not as I expected but it is still a very good piece of technology.

I haven't seen one but have one on preorder. I'm just a Nintendo fanboy at heart though. Just the thought of new Zelda and Metroid games are a sale for me.

Voted very hot btw. even though I can't cancel my Game.co.uk order :(

What were the best? SFIV? Pilot Wings? Ridge Racer? I think I'll buy two of those three.

Did you get to try Ghost Recon/Splinter Cell?

I think quite a lot of people have had a go on one now, judging by the sheer number of reports on the internet

That said, I guess it is mostly blind faith in Nintendo that's driving sales right now

When I tried it the 3D was more impressive than I expected, because it was mainly about subtle depth rather than naff things flying out etc. So many people ignore the fact the previous DS was a really good console (regardless of the amount of shovelware you see in the high street shops), so even without the 3D, a lot of fans would still buy one.

Street fighter is a must buy & both Pilot Wings and Ridge Racer are good. Out of them two really depends on the game you would prefer. I would say those 3 plus lego star wars & PES (if you're into footy) were the best games that would be available on release. Rayman wasn't too bad either but i guess most people have played that to death by now lol!

Personally i wouldn't touch Ghost Recon or Splinter Cell until they are half price. They look like they've been rushed to the system to make some extra cash.

Cheers. Doubt my budget will stretch to five launch titles, however tempting!

Thought the Clancy games would be crap. No surprise.

I heard Shadow Wars is pretty good... 80% in ONM. It's created by Julian Gollop, the guy behind the X-COM games. Apparently the use of 3D is unexceptional as it was originally a DS game that got repurposed, but if you like turn-based strategy in the vein of Advance Wars and Fire Emblem it's worth a look.
#27
I'll stick with my tesco pre order, and to all those who are unsure / havent played one yet. I didn't have one preordered until I played SF IV in gamestation on one, now I do, they're worth it and pretty damn impressive.
#28
Stunning deal and hot. I am thinking of getting one at launch because there might be shortages come June time when Link should arrive in 3D form! Not sure what their preorder delivery dates are like, however even if it came at the weekend or the following Monday I would be pleased enough. The instore pricing at GAME is shocking at £219.99!

I've got to admit I'm a little bit worried about this, I've sent them a question about it just in case. The wording is pretty vague, and the reason it bothers me is because ShopTo used to do that with pre-orders - it wasn't until relatively recently that they started doing the price promise like most sites do (I don't know how they dealt with the situation though, presumably sending an automated e-mail to anyone who preordered in case they didn't want it at the higher price).

It is a brilliant deal though as initially I was grudgingly willing to pay £230 when the prices were first announced, and I'm sure I'm just being paranoid.

Just tried a 3DS in HMV and I was very impressed by the 3D. I took a photo of the sales guy then grinned like a kid as his face seemed to squeeze out of the screen into a ball shape then floated around before I started shooting it. My one concern: my eyes hurt a bit but I had a late night gaming (and drinking) so can't be sure what is causing it. Got one reserved at Morrisons and definitely getting it now. Not worth risking this for £5 less especially given the strange wording. Plus, if Morrisons drop their price I will pay the lowest.
Nice bit of kit really.

For thoses waiting for further price drops, stock will be limited and the problem compounded by component shortages in japan at the moment. Like the iPad2 there could be real problems getting one.
#32
The augmented reality game it comes with is pretty awesome! Amazing how it works!
#33
Anyone know if there is a screen protector for the bottom touchscreen in the 7 in 1 pack?

to be honest I have to say it looked pretty cool!

I saw one in game today, the girl was playing street fighter and it really impressed me, definately made me sure I made the right choice pre-ordering one.

I pre-ordered mine from HMV in the end, trade in offer
+ the fact for £230 you get console and a game, £20 gift voucher and double pure points.
#38
Quick question please. I've preordered mine at shopto. Although they are fantastic, I am paying 199 for my 3ds and 28 ish for pes 2011 and st4 3d. If I were to preorder with asda, tesco now (as they are cheaper) can they one, deliver on release date for certain or two, allow store pickup on release day?
Anyone had experiences in pre ordering consoles from either?

Thanks in advance.

^ If you order now you can pick one up on the 25th at your local Tesco's @ £187. And SSF4 is back in stock so you can grab it for an extra tenner (with the voucher they're giving out on Monday).
