I just came across this pre-order for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab, which will be released on the 1st of Nov. This is certainly the best price I've come across for a non-contract Samsung Galaxy Tab.

I hope some of you may find it useful :)

Not that good and too expensive. Also RRP as said before. Save your money and don't buy.

I'll stick to my 64GB 3G Ipad. This is a fail

Expensive, I'm sure it'll be cheaper a month or two after launch.

I'm no Apple fanboy, but at this price with only a 7" screen how do they think it's going to compete with the ipad?
I've been looking at buying a 10.4" android pad for a while (£140 ish) but with so many conflicting reviews, with more bad than good so I have held off - there is no way I would consider paying £529 for a smaller one though. These android pads are being updated to newer models every few months so I also wonder about the lifespan of them (hardware/compatibility wise) as my google phone is only 1 year old and already well out of date.
Given time these will defo be a contender to the ipad but not yet, and definately not at this price level/screen size.

Do yourselves a favour and get an iPad. Android tablets are gash.

how can a google phone with OTT updates and free apps and games be out of date?

I had 1 update, but the OS I believe is 2.2 now - it is also limited by hardware and won't even run alot of newer stuff.

i dont think the "real" android tabs will come until os 3.0.
i do not like this galaxy tab for same reasons as others on this thread.
for the price now i woud take the ipad but im going to hold off and see what windows come up with.
once there are 3 or 4 (nokia?) softwares available we will get an idea of which is best.

I've tried one of these a couple of weeks ago and it's an oversized android phone (HTC Desire, Samsung galaxy S, Nexus One, you name it).

An EPIC fail is that when you rotate the screen to portrait, it does exactly the same as a mobile - half the screen is keyboard, half a "text area". I would expect to see a keyboard while still looking at the app.

I'm not an Apple fan, but for this money, get an iPad.

I think that the right price for this would be around £350 at most.
