Is this n/w locked to Orange?
#4
Thanks - Spotted the black but it looked like the original grey in pics but amended anyway.
#5
Yes - they are normally locked but can be unlocked for about £5
#6
Paid 99p to get mine unlocked off fleabay , very good phone

Excellent, was just about to buy this direct from Orange, saved me a tenner top-up since I'm going to unlock it anyway. They are going for stupid money on eBay, can't understand why people will pay 40quid+ over the retail price!

Excellent phone, I got one on the previous deal for £79.99 inc £10 top-up. They can be unlocked on eBay for as little as 99p, & it's easy to remove the Orange bloatware, & replace it with a nice custom ROM.

Check out the Modaco ZTE Blade forums for more info.

If you buy from the Orange direct using quidco you can get this for £98 inc £10 credit or instore for £99 if you happen to have a student card (10% discount)

But you can get this direct from Orange for:

£79 by phone if you are an Orange customer.
or
£99 via online using the NUS discount (+ £12 Quidco!)

There's still a few teething problems with the custom ROM's.
Got my SF from Orange a few weeks ago, must say I was surprised how good it is. I've played a few of the basic free games, and it seems to run them all without any problems.

The camera is naf, but that's probably the only negative really.

As someone pointed out in the Orange San Fran offer, there may be a differece in warranty length?

Presumably 12 months with Orange and 28 days with Play?
#16
will they take the money now, or when shipped?

Great deal. I've recently bought a phone so I don't "need" this deal but I still may pre-order simply because it's great value for money.

With Quidco too it comes down to £96.50. (3.5% discount).

Is this for these new colours or just the grey.
I've been holding off ordering one, but fancy something a bit different.

I may go for the white one, but want the best price (that's why we're all here).

THis is a great phone for the price. Only downside I've had to it, is that the power button is really badly designed!

I have problems now and again shutting it down/waking it up. Sometimes it takes a really hard press of the power button.

I bought it about 2.5 weeks ago from local orange shop. Would I be able to get them to replace it in store?! Or would I be stuck with this? Problem is, that sometimes the power button works great, others it doesn't. So typically, I'd take it down to them, and it'll work fine... :( lol
#22
Obviously hot, this is an outstanding phone for the money. Wish I'd waited and got a white one.
#23
Brilliant deal.

I unlocked one for £1.92 at NCK codes.
#24
I heartily endorse this phone. My company is heavily involved in mobile technologies & (because of the price/quality) we see this as a potential game-changer for the mobile market.
The only thing going against this phone is the poor battery life, but then this applies to all phones of this type (i.e. powerful device & large screen).

Fantastic phone for the money...Excellent Sharp Display....However.....

I only wish it were LOUDER!!!

I have missed loads of calls because the ringtones are so quiet, even on full volume. The music player volume is also really quiet at full volume

The display is also too sensitive. When the dialpad is activated to access voicemail, my ear presses the numbers accidently, giving me totally wrong options! I have to hold the phone at a stupid angle away from my head to listen to missed calls, avoiding contact with the display,.,it really is that sensitive!

Other than that...Brilliant!

Could anyone with this phone advise with these problem issues, if you sorted them?

Cheers :)

Sounds like you've got a faulty phone as the display should black out (due to the sensor) when you put your ear to the phone.

Are you with Orange?
If so, do what I did:

1) Call 0800 079 2000
2) Go through the options - select the ones regarding current deals (I think Option 2 & Option 2 again)
3) Once you get through to an agent, say the following "I am interested in the Orange San Francisco on Pay As You Go"
4) Then say nothing.
5) The Orange rep should ask if you are a current Orange customer & ask for your mobile number.
6) He/She will run some checks & should tell you that they can offer you the phone for £79 delivered.

It worked for me 1st time, but other members have reported having to ring a few times. I guess it's who you end up speaking to.

Hope this works for any current Orange member wanting the handset :)

Is it wrong if i stick an apple logo on the back of this phone?
