epic movie! It is probably the top warfilm ive seen, i think ill wait to see how the reviews comment on the picture quality as i know a lot of films get terrible transfers (pray this one doesnt!)

hot though for a brand new bluray!

I could not find it cheaper on Play or Amazon. I think people are voting it cold based on whether they like the film or think it is worth £13. I generally vote based on whether something is a good deal/price compared to other retailers.

I think people are also voting cold because they don't know what the BD transfer is going to be like, and the fact it's preorder.
It's a great film, but I'll be waiting to see what he transfer reviews are like before ordering.

Also. I really can't see the point in preordering stuff like this. Do people really think the shelves will be empty within an hour of release, or is it that they really MUST have it on release day ?

Unless the price instore is the same or better than the net then I never pre-order any movie.
With older movies like this I'll sit on the fence until I know how good the transfer is.

Won't be long before it's 9.99 as it is a re-release.

not voted, great movie though

Surely a bit of a rip-off at this price for a film this old? As much as I like the film, NOT sure I'd be paying anything over a tenner!

Especially when the Special Edition DVD can be had for about £3.99.

An owners review for the Korean release [region A] says it's a mixed bag, but a worthwhile upgrade over the previous DVD version [assuming we will get the same release here]

I too would expect this one to retail at a LOT less than suggested.

Funny how it's already under a tenner on Amazon.com [rip off Britain again!]

Platoon is good, but I must confess I don't value it anywhere near this price to consider it hot.
Even some of my favourite films seem like a stupid purchase at around £8 when I have them on DVD.
