Looks like a good crimbo present for my Bro. Only drawback is no cartridge slot so only the games on the internal memory.

BUT, why on Earth add Sonic Spinball? it's a very poor game, I would have much rather played the first or second Sonic game.
#4
£30 for retro games, get your self the sega collection on psp under £10 has a lot of the games already listed..
#5
damn,no Streets of Rage!

fair point, just seems a little dear for me for average sega games:thumbsup:
#10
Can you add other games to this? Seems a bit odd to only be able to play the internal games
#11
This has been available in Argos for about half a year :P Alot of the retro gaming sites were going on about it when it was released.

anyone know if it has a csrd slot (i.e. sd or memory stick)
if so you may be able to put more games on the card
as they are only about 60k each
#13
Is this aka Sega Game Gear?
#14
It's not supposed to be great and the choice of games is limited and bad.

A GP32 or GP2X could be bought to (just over) twice the money (lots on ebay) and will emulate a lot more.

no, the game gear was an eight bit system released years ago,.

damn,no Streets of Rage!

Agreed mate. That would have been a great selling point.
#17
Hmm, some OK games some rubbish.

No Road Rash,
No Desert Strike,
No way to add roms??
#18
i have this, paid £19 although mine has two slight differences - instead of Shinobi III it has Revenge Of Shinobi, and instead of the awful Sonic Spinball i got the fantastic Ristar - but the 18 other games are on my one, its not a bad little thing, looks good on a big TV, i prefer to use it that way.

agree the psp games collection is better, i have that too, but not all people can afford a psp. this is a decent price, and at least its official, so you can feel better about not nicking games.

and if you have a wii, they have all 3 streets of rages on there, 800 points each.
#19
Desert Strike ... that brings back memories!
#20
Desert Strike mmmmmmmmmmm such great games one of the reasons i make games now :)
Get a Gizmondo you can pick them up for the same price and they play all these games, have a lot more features like GPRS and camera built in but you cant play on the big screen.
#21
My pocket pc has a Mega Drive emulator and can be connected to a TV :P Same goes for Nokia N95 (or most other Symbian based operating systems.
#22
I loved Road Rash! :-)
#23
If only it had ghosts and ghoulies on it, top mega drive game.
#24
would buy it just for golden axe!
#25
I remember getting the Megadrive home putting Golden Axe in the slot and thinking wow!!! look at the graphics, how times change even for a megadrive games it was poor. :-D
#26
Nice find, but I still own a mega drive, along with a mega drive II and the cd add on, and a game gear, saturn, dreamcast and master systems 1&2. :D

Yea I would get is just for that :-D
#28
i loved Dr Robotniks and Columns... going to put this on my christmas list for me.
#29
what a waste, add another £40 and you can buy a used psp put custom firmware add a 2gb memory stick and run snes/megadrive/mastersystem/GBA/Mame/CPS1/CPS2/Neogeo games pefect! even have the tv out option on the psp slim why pay £30 to buy some thing that only let you play a handful of games????
#30
This is a bit of a waste considering its limitations. As others have mentioned a PSP with a emulator is a good option and one which I use. If you want retro gaming then the GP32 is another option as is the Onestation which you can buy from dealextreme. The one station takes cartridges and there are plenty of 99 in one carts you can buy with some good retro games on.

Sign a lot of techno snobs in here, have you failed to think that not everyone wants a psp or that its risky walking down the high street with one as thieves see them, or little kids who are dropping things a lot.

Beg to differ most of these are excellent Sega games and Sonic And Knuckles is often seen as the best Sonic game ever

Just because it isnt released in the last year or so with mind blowing graphics doesnt mean they are ****.

Get a one-station then, at least you can get new catridges so you don't play the same games all the time.
#34
Alex Kidd!

Now theres a flashback... but is it Alex Kidd in Miracle World (awesome!) or the other ones (not so awesome)?
#35
Here is a video review of this, it does look quite good for the price.

waste of coinage
#37
If you are going to go to the hassle of buying a second hand PSP off ebay to emulate the games then are you not as well just buying a second hand mega drive from ebay and playing the physical games? : \

Because this is smaller, links to the TV and is LEGITIMATE.

PSP Slim isn't £70 including a 2GB memory stick. Why pay £40 more for something that does the same job when you can just pay £30 and it's idiot proof?
#39
id rather get a psp. 100% better.
£30 on this ugly thing is a waste.

Just wanting something because its in fashion.

You cant compare a PSP with 16 bit games a totally different generation

Oh I heard you can mod a card reader to this to play games off.
