Be one of the first people to get the brand new Samsung Galaxy s II (16GB).

The follow-up to the extremely succesful GALAXY S, Samsung's GALAXY S II is a powerhouse of a smartphone in a fantastically sleek and lightweight design. Considerably thinner than the original GALAXY S and rivals such as the iPhone 4 (8.49mm v 9.3mm) the GALAXY S II is stunningly light (only 117g) and packs the latest version of Android (Gingerbread).

no.. just no. don't be the first to get anything. it's not cool, or clever, a good idea or a good deal.

unless you work for Samsung or something? which isn't allowed on this site.

Inb4 the sheep boys.... Oh wait!

The original Galaxy S plsses all over the iPhone 4... so its pretty obvious this will leave the fashion accessory known as an iPhone standing.

In before the fandroids.....Oh wait!

Being a complete Samsung fanboy I got it straight away. 2 months later I got rid due to it being the worst phone I had ever had. I risked an iPhone 4 after years of hating Apple but after being so let down by Samsung I figured it couldn't be worse. Hate to admit it but Apple wins

2nd vote for the LG Optimus 3D.

Faster benchmarks than the Galaxy S2 though the S2 does look better and seems to have better build quality. Will have to wait until May before we can get hold of the LG to compare the 2.
Leaves the iPhone4 for dust.

LG Optimus 3D £514.99 sim-free. Will probably be available on a approx £30 per month, 18 month contract.

Microscopic differences in benchmarks really are not useful when choosing a phone for real world use. It's the way the thing works in your day to day life that really counts.

Personally I am not going to be paying anywhere near this amount for any phone, but what is important here is whether or not this is a deal surely? Is this the cheapest or just the standard price?

Surely that depends on what you want from a phone?

just pre ordered mine, this a stonking buy

mean beast and defo iphone killer

Looking into this a bit more, the track record with Expansys pre-pre-order is that it is an expensive way to buy. This phone will be much cheaper when it's generally available.

I have an iPhone 4 (32gb) and love it, but i'm still going to sell it when the Galaxy S II is released. Having no widgets and no Flash support on the iPhone is what lets it down.

Galaxy S 2 is supposed to be getting the Tegra 2 chip as well, i.e. it will ship with one or the other. So this benchmark is useless.
