• Star Wars: The Complete Saga on Blu-ray (9-disc Set includes all six films)
• Star Wars: Prequel Blu-ray Trilogy (3-disc set includes Episodes I-III)
• Star Wars: Original Blu-ray Trilogy (3-disc set includes Episodes IV-VI)

Why the cold votes, all 3 movies for for under £34!
#3
SERIOUSLY, if you are voting cold, PLEASE give a reason!!
#4
I would hazard a guess that the cold votes come from the wording of the post title.

It seems to suggest that the blu rays are £33.99 EACH, not £33.99 for the TRILOGY. You may want to change the title to make this clear ;-)
#5
I voted cold because there will be many deals in the next few months that will beat this price. Plus the wait till October will be part of the reason.

These films are all OLD!
Sit back, watch your DVD's once more and wait for the price to drop to less than £30 for all six movies.
Can't be bothered to vote hot or cold because simply having them available on BD does not a bargain make.

I did say Sep originally but something else said Oct so I changed it.

Not voting either way since it may possibly be the cheapest price currently, however, as said, they will drop in price very quickly (maybe even before its release), same as most bluray boxsets do these days, i wouldnt be surprised to see it half in price a month or less after release (just look at LOTR, i know they're only the theatrical releases, but the price droped down to £18 from about £40 fairly quickly).
#11
I don't see how an opportunity to preorder is a deal. Is this especially cheap compared to elsewhere?

No but it sets the benchmark price. Amazon will sell you it for less if their price drops and they are normally the cheapest anyway.
#13
the extended versions will come out a few months after these get released!!!!
#14
Then the directors cut versions!!!
#15
Then the 35yr anniversary boxset!!!
#16
Then the 3D conversions.

Sorry, but what? You vote cold because you THINK there might be better deals in the future? Are you for real?

"I vote Avatar on Blu Ray for £1 cold because it might be 50p next week". I mean, come on, give yourself a shake. Either vote hot for the current deal, or don't vote at all. Jesus wept, this just demonstrates what is so wrong with this site.

I expect the price of "The Lord Of The Rings" Trilogy (Blu-ray Disc) set dropped because people did not buy it because it was announced a second set was to be released relatively soon after the first edition.

Currently £16.93:

I'm not really keen on Amazon as they have let me down numerous times in the past, but for my Christmas orders this year everything was delivered as expected (even throughout the poor weather conditions).

There is nothing to lose with submitting a pre-order now.
If I see a better deal prior to release & Amazon cannot match it, I can always cancel.
If I see a better deal after my item has been despatched, I can return it to Amazon for a refund.

My sister ordered presents from them, all of the royal mail stuff arrived but she paid extra for the next day delivery to arrive on the 17th and it arrived after new years thanks to the crappy delivery service they use. The company said they don't know why Amazon say it will be next day delivery as they can't supply that service and despite it being tracked to the local depot for a few days I drove her down their xmas eve and they didn't have it.

I personally do not rate the last three movies to be released, & think "Return of the Jedi" (Episode VI) was very poor compared to the original "Star Wars" (Episode IV: "A New Hope") & "The Empire Strikes Back" (Episode V). "The Phantom Menace" I thought was too long with not enough story to carry it. I guess that is why Episodes IV, V, & VI were picked as the most commercial stories back in the 1970s/early 1980s.

I am looking forward to watching all six in order though (for my first time) especially in High Definition, but if you are waiting for the entire set in 3D you have a few years to go yet...

The Star Wars Saga in 3D!, 28 September 2010

...The Phantom Menace is expected to be released theatrically in 2012...

By the time all six movies have been to the cinema (presumably in each successive year, but nothing officially has been stated to this effect, as far as I am aware) & then to Blu-ray individually you may be able to buy all 3D movies in one boxed set by 2017/2018...

...or watch all six on Blu-ray in September/October 2011.

No, people didn't buy it because the PQ was crap compared to what it should have been and it looked too much like an exercise in cashing in

Cheaper at The Hut using Walkers codes and / or More Th>n discount. Just got it as low as £58.13 this way.

How can you vote this a hot deal when you don't even know if the BDs are going to be any good...will they be tinkered with further, will they contain the 'original' versions...??

...you're going to get cold votes because for years people have been sick of Luca$ milking his cashcow and not giving the true fans what they wanted. Personally, I remember seeing ep IV when it first came out with my school friend, it was fantastic and I became obsessed with all thing SW for a few years after...but now, I don't even think it's a very good film and, although I do have it on DVD somewhere, I don't envisage watching it for many years, there's far better films out there!

Far fewer people are willing to spend huge amounts on blurays now too, most people are happy enough to keep their DVD's until its worth picking up (that applies to most movies, not just this), £70 isnt particularly cheap, it may be a good preorder price, but still doesnt mean its cheap enough to be a hot deal, at least for me (although i wouldnt say it was cold either). I fully expect the price to drop within the first month or 2 the same as nearly everything else has.

An ok price for those who absolutely must have it on release (although id avoid Amazon if you want it on time, they are not good with preorders), for everyone else i'd personally say hold off and you may see it more like 50% off fairly quickly.
