OMG!
Look at the 2 ps2 classics now coming on 1 disc for ps3 for this amazing price! :D
I cannot wait!!!

Release Date: 15 April 2011

Two of the most critically acclaimed PS2 games of all time are finally making their way to the PlayStation 3. Like God of War 1 and 2, Ico and Shadow of the Colossus will be getting the remastered HD treatment and will give many gamers who didn’t have the chance before to experience these two classics by Team Ico.

Ico and Shadow of the Colossus will be released separately in Japan, but will be bundled together everywhere else. Now that these two legendary games are getting re-releases, what other PlayStation 2 games would you like to see get HD remakes next?

It'll be down to around £15-17 after a month if the other HD upgrades are anything to go by, the games are still worth this price, but its pretty much going to be the standard base price retailers will use for preorders, id expect it to be cheaper by the time its released.

Not really a deal as this is prob RRP though not many places seem to be offering it yet. Worth getting when it's sub £20 as Ico is fantastic though it's not for your average Black Ops sweary monkey teen. Wasn't keen on SOTC but may give it another go. Trophy support on this too now.

didn't realise these were getting a proper disc release , i always thought they would be downloadable thru the psn store

I wonder if a limited edition version of "The last guardian" will have these as a freebie?

Money for old rope. That is why they took out PS2 emulation from the PS3.

Both these games have been unavailable for ages and were fetching pretty good second hand prices on eBay etc. so I'm pleased they're getting a new release as I missed them both first time round. But will be waiting for the price to drop I think before I'll be buying.

It sure is! Will definitely be picking this up. Sounds like they've put a bit of an effort in with the HD upgrade too... Not even played Ico yet, so bargain!

Shadow of the Colossus was EPIC. Anyone that never got to play it first time around MUST play this. It should be law.
#19
Gonna be in 3d too i seem to remember. Ico will be even more stunning in pseudo HD and 3D.

Except it's now in 16:9 instead of 4:3, runs with a smooth frame rate instead of the jerky old one, higher texture resolutions, trophy support and 3D support.

The reason emulation was taken out was because the console was too expensive anyway and Sony were making a loss on each one sold.

I own both of these games for the PS2 and will be rebuying this collection. It's a great way for people who never experience them before to do so now before The Last Guardian comes out. Such as myself when I wanted God of War 3, I bought the God of War collection having missed them on PS2.

If you don't want to buy it, don't buy it. If you want to play original PS2 games, play them on your PS2.

Is this actually coming out on the 15th April? Amazon doesn't even seem to have it listed.

i rather agree :D

Pretty sure it's been this price for ages, I nearly pre-ordered on one of the britvic codes.

I swear the PS2 version of ICO looked like it ran at 320x240, did anyone else get this impression? Still a great game though.

I've got plenty to be playing through already so I'll be sticking this on to my gamestracker wishlist and will be waiting for a price drop email...

Seeing as you can pick up a second hand PS2 for about £20 now I would say the argument was mostly moot. This pack has a few enhancements over the originals too (Higher res textures, 16:9 instead of 4:3).

Both excellent games.

Legendary esp Ico :D

Just hope people buy it this time.
#28
I got two britvic 15% Zavvi vouchers but I must've deleted them! I'd probably use them on this.
Edit: The Zavvi vouchers were revoked, that's why it doesn't show the code any more :( "Zavvi.co.uk (The Hut Group Ltd) has announced its withdrawal from the Reward Your Thirst collector mechanic as of 04.02.11 in accordance with the Terms & Conditions."

It won't be sought after on PS3 though will it.

Do you not know of Ico and SOTC? They go for really high prices on eBay considering they're only PS2 games. £15-17 after a month? That happened with God of War yes but that launched at around £18. Same happened with the Prince of Persia Trilogy but that wasn't anything special. Sly Cooper is £20-25 and that came out 4 months ago. These games are considered to be a form of art by some people so I doubt they'd go below £20 for at least half a year
#35
Voted hot but I'm pretty sure this'll be the price for a while.

Coming out the day before my birthday. That'll be a nice present :)

Ebay has nothing to do with it i sold ps2 rez for £27 it doesnt mean people will pay same ammount if when its re released on ps3

First I've heard of that! Though I already have Rez HD on my 360.

This is the first I've heard anywhere of the release date being 15 April 2011... I hope that it's true and Zavvi didn't just make it up. :)

An increased draw distance would be sweet.

Yes it did run at a lower res than the usual ps2 fare but still looked better than most of them. Superb experience.
