Vampires have come "out of the coffin" and are now living among us. Surviving on synthetic blood, they no longer need human blood to survive. Or so it seems...

From Alan Ball, writer of the Oscar-winning Best Picture American Beauty and creator of the Emmy Award-winning HBO series Six Feet Under, comes the critically acclaimed world of True Blood, adapted from American author Charlaine Harris' The Southern Vampire Series including Dead And Gone, A Touch Of Dead and more. Episode directors include acclaimed moviemakers John Dahl (The Last Seduction) and Heathers helmer Michael Lehmann.

The small town of Bon Temps, Louisiana, boasts a wide array of colourful locals. Meet Sookie Stackhouse (Academy Award winner Anna Paquin - The Piano), a sweet and innocent waitress who hides her powerful ability to read minds; Bill Compton (British actor Stephen Moyer), a 173-year-old vampire who's just moved back to town; Sookie's brother Jason (Aussie hearthrob Ryan Kwanten - Vinnie Patterson from Home And Away), a ladies' man who can't seem to stay out of trouble; tough-as-nails Tara, Sookie's loyal best friend; Sam, the owner of Merlotte's who tries to keep his feelings for Sookie to himself; Lafayette, a man about town who's always cooking up something illicit and "off the menu", and a quirky cast of characters who each hide their dark secrets in the shadows of night in this series that's like no other.

I watched this on FX and i thought it was good
It's a brilliant show. Season 2 has ended in the States and it's still awesome. Can't wait for season 3.
Got so fed up with the ridiculous accents and dull storyline I didn't even make it to the end of episode 1
I haven't seen it - but I can guarantee it's not gonna be as good as Dexter!
its i luuuuuuurve it y'all

Quidco on this aswell?
this show is pants. One review described it as eastenders with vampires and that is pretty accurate. I watched the first series and wont be watching the next. Dull.
i enjoyed the first season, but season two was pants
Great mix of opinions :-D

Personally I enjoyed both series
A horrible show with some of the stupidest lines I've heard. Gave up after three episodes.
This is one of the stupidest shows of all time. The lead characters get boring after season 1, and it gets really ridiculous when shapeshifters who turn into pigs, dogs, birds come into play. Along with talk of werewolves, ancient vampires and a stupid church which is going up against gays and vampires.
This is a show only for those type of people who would watch anything with a lot of sex and nudity in it, apart from that theres really NOTHING this show has to offer. Plus season 2 ends horrendously disappointingly. Also there is a pathetic attempt at a cliffhanger at the end of it which is so predictable you may as well not watch season 3.

There's lots of Sex and nudity. :w00t: Sounds great - can't wait to watch them! :whistling:

Actually I've read the book and the TV Series is a little too Sexual for my liking - however it's enjoyable still.

This isn't grammy winning stuff - think of it as a guilty pleasure that can't be watch with parents or children - which can also be a good thing! ;-)
I enjoyed the 2 seasons also , anyone know when season 3 is out?

If anyone knows of any intresting UK programs please wake me up and let me know , as i feel our programs are dull & boring.
Fantastic show. Season 1 was better than 2 but still can't wait for 3.
