I bought 80 so far:
All arrived quickly, some within 1 day, most 2 days, some 3 days.
All discs play well, even the "budget versions". All arrived in non-damaged boxes. Some came with a limited edition lenticular/3D covers.

Recommended!

There are also CineAsia movies available in the section "world blu rays" and some 100's of cartoons too!

If you know a cheaper/better place to buy-blu rays please let me know!

Happy watching :-)

Heated great prices. I'm not that up on what to get or not in recent films, do you have any recommendations from these? Maybe if you could do a top 10 or 20 of the 80 you got?
I was guiding myself via Amazon rating, avoiding less than 4 stars, unless they are Sci-fi which I will watch anyway.
Ender's Game is an awesome production IMO.

You still never know what you will get. Some of the discs/cases do have damages, scratches etc. I buy lots of Blu Rays from cex and some of them do skip scenes during play. Not worth making a fuss about as they are cheap. As if they will have time to fully test the discs anyway.

What are budget versions? as opposed to normal versions? , and do all blu-rays come in original cases with all the booklets and what not.
Are their blu-rays good quality generally speaking?

Budget versions can be a disc only or in an unofficial case. It is a gamble. Cex are known to print their own sleeves as well. Shady business practices if you ask me (_;)

CEX are very hit and miss, for example in my last order they took over 3 working days to actually pick the items from the store by which time a couple had gone out of stock, so a waste of the p&p if you have to reorder later. Also two of the titles had to be returned as the condition of the discs and or case was very poor. Having said that for older releases they are usually the cheapest if your buying in bulk, but the recent releases can often be found cheaper new elsewhere if you search online.
For the guy that asked budget version usually means its ex rental, blu rays are usually in better condition than DVDs and my pick of the above titles would definitely be Source Code and Looper.

Some decent tiles, going to trade in some stuff for some credit.

I go this last year when they had no limit on the postage, bought a ridiculous amount of DVDs. Quality was excellent, none scratched.
#19
I can honestly say I have never seen any of those films in that list. I got excited when I saw the Revenant but realised it's the latest version I've seen.

Yes, £2.50 p&p for up to 10 items.
They will arrive from different stores. Some of my orders were split into 8 shipments but still total of £2.50 p&p.

notice CEX have put their prices up on most items. Most now cost at least £1 more than a few days ago. Puts me off buying anything.

I see that many 'budget versions' are OOS and the regular ones are about 0.50 - 1.00 more.
Just wait till they have more in stock. Price is bound to be cheaper than on Amazon, ebay and other sites otherwise CEX will make no business.

Force awaken's blu ray was £6 before Xmas. It was £8 last week and now £10. I accept with Carrier Fisher passing away interest may have increased but their prices vary all over the place

I earned a few more pounds on trade-ins, so it works both ways. They constantly change prices - usually down. The shelves in my nearest store are usually very bare after the Xmas period, so they are encouraging trade-in. DVDs are usually scratched, but BRs are often OK, steelbooks more of a lottery.

They are needing more stock after the Xmas feeding frenzy.

I was in my local cex the other day and I was browsing the games, they had left a roll of stickers with new prices on the shelf in plain sight. I was looking and from the few I looked at the price had gone up around, goldeneye for PS3 was £3 now it's £4 etc. Of course when I went to till and it was gonna be like £7.30 for all my stuff ended up costing me £8. Not much of a difference but still sly as **** if you ask me

I was told by trading standards it is a criminal offense of false advertising to change prices. Maybe a quicj phone call would sort it out in the future. I heard their original stores in London were fined for not matching contents to cover of boxes. Only £15,000, according to the customer who reported them. No doubt they started training the staff after that.

I've ordered about 30 blurays from CEX online over the last few months. Only a small minority of them have arrived in reasonable condition or better. Most of them are pretty terrible. Scratched discs, dirty and cracked boxes, missing sleeves. I even had one delivered in a PS3 game case with a poorly printed cover rammed into the sleeve.

I don't know how people can treat their discs like this, much less why CEX buy them in that condition and/or make them worse.

CeX business model is fluid pricing, on both sale and trade-in values, based on supply and demand. You may not like the pricing, but it is transparent and no-one is forcing you to buy/sell with them. Remember you get more for trade-in credit than cash, to encourage you to re-spend in store.

Having said that, the stores should be on the ball with re-pricing the items when there are changes and they usually are, but if it is busy they may not get round to it quick enough.

Having said that, whenever I have found a discrepancy between the sticker price (being lower) and the till price, they have honoured the lower price when asked (nicely ...).
#32
Fluid in regard to courtesy, customer service and the laws of the lands, maybe.

Yes, very true, also not interested when you complain, they will send out any old rubbish and the onus is on the customer to return if they wish.

My local store has always been quite good when I've went in to either buy/trade something in or return something I've ordered online.
Traded in allot of old tat that I really cant be bothered to sell on ebay or somewhere else for not much more than they will give me at CEX in vouchers..
Also gotten quite a few blu rays from them, disks have always been flawless (some cases had small marks on, but not important for £1)

Order online and you can have the wrong disk in the wrong box. Badly copied inserts, missing booklets, missing disks are just a few things I have had. At least instore you can sometimes check what is missing and how much snot you can predict any items will have at the checkout. They also don't inform you of price rises from advertised sticker prices.

Very smooth customer practices. All hail Our Dear Leader President Trump!

Only an idiot would order from cex online.

Its not that bad.
Ordered quite allot of stuff from CEX over the past few weeks as myself and my brother has a clear out of junk (xbox console, games, wii etc and DVD's) and decided just to get rid of it at CEX for vouchers as we couldn't be bothered with the hassle of ebay and the like.

Ordered:
20 Disney Infinity characters (also bought some in my local shop when I traded things in)
Sandisk 32GB USB 3.0
Raspberry Pi 3 Model B
Battlefield 1, Halo 5 and Gold club Xbone (for my brother)
Xbone Halo 5 Guardians Controller (for my brother)
28 Blu rays (some box sets, some single movies, our postman hates us as they all came in individual parcels! LOL poor guy)

Apart from 1 blu ray being too scratched to play and 1 cover being torn to shreds (sent those back for replacements) everything has come in very good condition and 0 scratches on any of them blu rays of which where mostly £1 or under apart from a few select ones I really wanted for £1-2. Been a good experience with them and everything works fine.

I've heard AND seen enough to know not to order anything from them online. I advise anyone wishing to do this to not do it! Unless they're brave enough like yourself. You've answered why as they have sent you torn, scratched discs.

26/28 is pretty good I think (for a used shop), when I was in my local shop handing in the items I had to trade in, I saw them rejecting disks and items that where scratched and damaged in some way. Guess its down to the individual shops......
But I can certainly see where you are coming from.

I have ordered a lot of things from them online over the last year and the vast majority where fine, I would say at least 8/10, on occasion that there is something wrong with the item I have arranged return at their expense and they have sent me a replacement (if they have it available) by special next day delivery every time once they got my return back. Certainly better than music magpie in my experience, and also cheaper. Of course if they have the item in your local store thats preferable but usually this is not the case.
