Wow, Wii owners should buy this just for the pad, others should buy it because it is a great little system.

Hot.

Best Console last gen imo, far better games than what the wii has to offer.

Quite possibly yes only bad point was the Z button, 360 pad is a good as.

Don't all keep your hopes too high. My local didn't have any in stock.

How sad to see these and Dreamcasts going for peanuts....hot deal, but criminal to see them at this price. Gamecube was a great system, take one apart, fantastically built.

When I feel a bout of retro gaming coming on, I much prefer playing games on these than my PS2 which sits gathering dust.
#13
great deal :) HOT great for xmas :santa:
#14
I do like some gamecube games, but it's the least interesting nintendo console of recent times (only the nes is worse imo).

Still, at a fiver I'd definitely get one.

Play them on the wii. what games
#16
360 pad is slightly too bulky imo but saying that the analogue sticks are well placed on it so much so I got quite good at CoD4, never thought i'd amount to anything on a FPS on a console!

The Z button wasn't used for many games I had but yes it was a strange position!

cheap christmas decorations.....hot

Least interesting? The Wii has about 5 or 6 games that are actually any good.

Buy a Cube for:
- Zelda Twilight Princess & Wind Waker
- Metroid Prime 1 & 2
- Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem
- Super Smash Bros. Melee
- Mario Kart: Double Dash
- F-Zero GX
- Fire Emblem
- Paper Mario 2
- Super Mario Sunshine
- Pikmin 1 & 2

and non-exclusive 3rd party titles that are best played on the cube include
- Resident Evil 4
- Beyond Good & Evil
- Viewtiful Joe 1 & 2
- Prince of Persia: Sands of Time

Stop expiring this please, this offer is available instore.

Can I do any interesting mods to this like with an Xbox and XBMC?

Least interesting?

That's what I said didn't I?

The Wii has about 5 or 6 games that are actually any good.

Well, just looking at what I have I found 30 games (mostly first party) that are good or better. Which is about the same as the GCN had and the wii still has a couple of years of life left.

The N64 had many more good games, and the SNES had 10x that amount.

Buy a Cube for:
snipped useless list

Yep - whoever said don't buy one, especially for the games you listed? But that was quite a small list, even for the GCN.

Pipe down, at least the guy above gave an explanation. You just jabber on like a slavering idiot. The roll smiley is the icing on the cake really.

Not really - you can run games from SD card or over the network if you want, but neither way is very good.

Best bet is to get a Viper or Qoob or other chip. Even then all you can really do is play copies - the GCN homebrew scene was quite small (although it has carried on over to the wii very well).

Then you've got to buy 8cm dvd-r that the GCN will read (ritek g05 or verbatim MCC-01 work the best).

I must be the only one who would rather save the £5 and put it towards a game for my 360 that I would actually play hmmm... cold as ice

That's a really good attitude you have there!

I listed 13 excellent 1st or 2nd party titles and a few others. That's more than enough for someone looking to buy a ridiculously cheap previous-generation console, yeah?

I challenge you to list 30 exclusive wii games that aren't complete drivel, without dipping into cube titles on the basis that they run on a Wii too. Or maybe 130 SNES title?

Did you get them to check the price at the till?
My local is useless at updating ticket prices of old stock.
#35
Which store was this the one in preston had them still up at £14.99 in the window on Friday and they had an old battered Mario set at £49.99:w00t:
#36

#37
My local store still selling them at £19.99 and they do not price match their website...

Quite possibly, yes - you could be the only one!

I have a 360 and love it. I spend a great deal of time on it and have some great games for it. I also have a GC, which is a fantastic machine with some fantastic games.

At this price, I'm thinking of getting a second GC - it seems almost rude not to, especially when you consider that you can hardly buy a gaming magazine for that sort of price these days.
#39
i phoned durham store and they had no idea about them being £5 - they sell them for £20 :(

they guy said that they aren't £5 because you can trade them in for £10 so it wouldn't make sense?

which stores have them for £5???
#40
Well the leicester store don't have them for £5 they wern't aware of the prices being that and said it's only an internet offer...

Has anyone found this at £5?
