PS3 Metal Gear Solid 4 for PS3 - BEST GAME EVER for £4.99 (PRE-OWNED)

Summary
Developer: Konami
Publisher: Konami This is it. The conclusion to one of the most revered series of games in history. Enough hype for you? Well, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is nothing if not highly anticipated.

The game rounds out Hideo Kojima's epic story of Solid Snake, tying up all those niggling loose ends from previous games. The action takes place in a battle-scarred future in which huge multi national corporations battle for control using carefully chosen mercenaries (and big ol' robots) to do their bidding. Let's face it, we all know society's heading that way, so Kojima's already off to a good start. We see this world through the tired eyes of an aged Solid Snake, who must travel from the Middle East, to Europe and to South America to infiltrate key locations and, you know, win the day.

As ever, the emphasis is on stealth, with Snake creeping through his missions to complete tasks with the minimum possible violence. In fact, the greatest reward you can reap is for completing the game with zero kills. That's none. Who says games encourage violence?

The game is a deep, meaty and beautiful epic. In fact, the single player experience has so much to it that the multi player aspect has its own title - Metal Gear Online. The online component allows up to 16 players to compete in stealth combat, with teamwork heartily encouraged.

The game has many levels. On the one hand, it's a meditation on war, politics, society and what makes us tick. Don't forget, however, that it's also a rollicking shoot 'em up with painstakingly rendered graphics.

Excellent game, at a fantastic price. Super hot

Is it me, or is this game hard as nails? Maybe the likes of Modern Warfare has gotten me to used to charging in and simply running for cover to recover from being riddled with bullets! lol

Don't even attemt to do this tactic in MGS4!

H+R ;-)

Is he trying to say that watching paint dry can be rather tense, with moments of intense action? :?

been waiting for the price to go down.. and have only heard good things... are the controllers as easy as modern warfare? Don't normally like FPS/3rd Person shooters on the PS3.
#12
Deal, will play it through then punt on ebay when finished. Prob end up costing a pound or two. Hot.

Controls are nothing like modern warfare. All the MGS games have basically the same control layout. If you've played them you'll know what to expect. If not, prepare to be VERY frustrated, as their not very intuitive really, although once you get into the swing of things they do become second nature.

Nevermind that, just checked prices to see if I can easily sell it on once played. Could easily break even after fees and postage if you get a copy in fairly good condition. Certainly not a good way to make a profit but this is so cheap it's effectively free....

Gameplay is great and enjoyable to play but cutscenes total to far too much. Especially the ones at the very end of the game. Good game but far from the "best game ever".

I think it's probably best to describe the MGS series as an amazing action movie that you are in control of.

It's not about pointless kill after kill, it's about taking your time and making choices. Afterall it is called "Tactical Espionage Action".

If you haven't played the first one on the Playstation you definitely should, there's some good twists. Especially the Master Miller twist which was excellent.
