It should be nationwide.

not bad, £30 saving and you actualy get 12months still. Any chance they will have the 3red lights 3year warranty still?
#4
Yeah, although it will depend when they were made. If you ask the Sales assistant to find the newest one they usually do. (Well, i do anyways)

The Arcade unit will be the same price if there are any pre-owned ones too.

WTF??? COLD?? How? Any1 who voted cold is a big CHEAPSKATE!

hot to me

Another £45 gets you a brand new HDMI arcade with wireless controller, 256MB card & 5 arcade games. Cold I'm afraid

Don't get all shirty because I don't agree that it is a good deal. I voted cold and explained why. As a quote "Christ!"

Hmmm... second hand or new? 5 arcade games or none? Arcade vs Core? Memory card versus no card? I stand corrected...what a cracking deal

Edit:
even better deal at play now: http://www.play.com/Games/Xbox360/4-/3512999/Xbox-360-Arcade-Console/Product.html?dpr=2524

sorry but an extra 45£ is alot, an extra amoutnc ould get you an eliete etc etc etc. Seriously this is cheaper then normal, you CAN get the hdmi versions, depends how old they are. Someone could take a 360 back pretty soon and there, it has a good chance of being a hdmi version.

good deal if your only after spending a ton hot

Could...possibly...chance :?

Its cheaper because it is used. If you want a new, HDMI, complete model then the extra £40-£45 is well worth it.

I'll just agree to disagree as I think the price of £110 for a used core/arcade is too high in comparison to the cost of a new one.

I see your point there, but if somebody is wanting a cheaper second console i thinnk this is perfect. Also with the 12 month warrenty you get with t too. And in my store we have about 15 HDMI enabled versions pre-owned. Its just a mater of asking.

I am 50/50 on this deal, it is a good bargain but a lot of people trade in their consoles after having them repaired, modified or blocked on Xbox live, I think personally i would spend the extra £50 for the warranty.

yeh, you have too take intoo account these things but sometimes that £150 etc is jsut too much so this is a good deal for people who cant. Atleast you and some other people say your opinions and a good one xD.

Also if it is banned from xbl you can take back for a replacement as it is not fit for purpose etc, some1 care to find out if you can still get the 3years rrod error?

Im afraid I agree the Play deal is much better value.

The wireless controler takes up half the difference on its own !! Do you really want a wire ????

Never mind all the extras and the fact its a Brand new unit.
At least I know where its been instead of a machine which some snotty joe has had switched on in his bedroom for the last 2 years.

Microsofts 3 year ring of death warranty goes on the maunufactur date of the console or the original sale receipt.

As they are second hand units, its more than likely these are the older 360's which are more prone to the red ring fault, so in a year you may be wishing you spent a few quid more.
I know of people who have sent their early machines in 4 times for the red ring problem!!!

Just deliver a few more newspapers, you know its worth it really.

Having said that there is always going to be a place for second hand console's, its just that £110 (£40 saving on new and better) is not it at this point in time.
#17
yeh dont let the red light come on!!!
#18
Great deal if like me, already have wireless controllers etc..

Voted hot because of the 12 montrh warranty ;)
#19
hmm voted cold as you only save £30 as i have seen the arcades or cores the cheap xbox 360 for £139.99 brand new at ShopTo , so you only saving £30 and if you cant get £30 in a month for a brand new version WTF are you buying one at £110 for second hand lol...

these should be £90 if you ask me then thats a better price saving compared to a brand new one.
#20
A question for the poster, King - from your knowledge of working in a store, is there a risk of buying a second hand console that might've been blocked from XBOX Live? Only ask as I've heard about it happening and been put of buying from auction sites, etc.

Genuinely seems like a good deal, although I can see the concerns of others regarding the RROD and MS warranty repairs.
#21
A next gen console pushing £100 mark, thats got to be a good deal. It was only last year when the PS2 nearly cost that much.

Not next gen anymore for over a year mate

stonking deal. Im very very tempted to go and buy it and cancel my shopto order. Id only do it if they could find me an arcade model though and i could be assured it wasnt banned on xbl, gotta love me some demos
#24
Sorry its a cold from me, how would you know if its been blocked on xbox live - you wouldnt.

Pretty gutted if you got it home and then couldnt play on live becuase the previous owner got it banned, renmember they ban the console not the profile.
#25
Good deal, i even traded back an arcade for them to sell on yesterday, hdmi enabled etc.
#26
You could return it if it was banned on Xbox Live...definitely! It's not like you are buying from ebay.....

Id love a banned console, then I would know I could download whatever game I wished FOC.
The downside I suppose is not giving microsoft £40 a year to download demo's that you can have the full versions of for nowt, and getting thrashed at everything by a 7year old from Texas calling you Gay while he does it.:)

Voted cold... Self Promo.

vote hot

good deal

if you get an arcade, what are you losing over a new one?

nothing, u still get 3 years warentee, swap if xbl banned and everything else

and you save 40 quid for your troubles

if they dont throw in 5 arcade games in, you can get it from cex for a fiver, so no need to cry!

Sorry but in my opinion not a great deal. Firstly NEVER buy a second hand 360 it's just asking for trouble. Why buy a 2nd hand unit for £110 when a brand new Arcade is £139.99 at shopto.net as from next week ??? Then finally why buy from a company like Game who've shown over the last few years they'll take every opportunity to rip gamers off and force them to buy bundles with 'hard to get' stocks of consoles, people need longer memories. The normal RRP is now £159 for an Arcade and £40 off a (likely hammered - let's face it no-one sells decent ones to GAME at the prices they'll be offering) used console that's prone to problems when new, just aint a clever saving.
#31
if you are going to have the console modified this is the best bargain possible.

You can easily take the front panel off and check that the warranty sticker is intact. Any problems, you can return them, within 12 months. You still get the 3 year RoD warranty as well, as its transferable. Even if the 360 is second hand.

Why not ? Sure it might be slightly more likely to break down, but this comes with 12 months warentee

Not only that, the 360 hasnt been out 3 years yet, so chances are even if you do get an older one, will still have a fair whack of 3 year RROD warentee left.

The consoles wont have been opened/flashed, as game wouldnt take them, and if they did, Im sure they would happily swap it over for you for an unopened, unmodded one as there selling a used 360, not a used and banned 360 after all.

Ontop of this, you buy it or you dont buy it because of the price, not because you have a personal vendetta against them! It seems like a hot deal, sure they did bundle deals on the wii, but who didnt when they were in such high demand? This is 109.99, and there not bundling anything with it so whats there to moan about.
#35
There is no chance it will be banned. GAME aren't idiots and will check the consoles work on Live, and have not had the warranty voided. I'd happily upgrade to an HDMI enabled 360 (preferably the more recent Arcade) for £110, and will if they have one tomorrow.

P.S. OP, what value credit note are you (GAME) currently offering for a 360 Core/Arcade? Also, when trading in, is the memory card required/what exactly IS required? Box? 8 different types of video lead? Cheers :)
#36
Actually, until Microsoft release a new console this IS next generation by default.

You will only get the 3 year warranty if the consoles manufacture date is less than 3 years ago. I have mentioned this in a previous post.

The Microsoft guarantee goes on the manufacture date of the console or the original sales receipt.
So when the Game warranty runs out in a years time, the chances are you are screwed if you get the RROD.

We have just returned a 12 month old console for RROD, On the phone to Microsoft they told us the console was actually manufactured over 2 years ago!!!

As I said previously the older consoles are more prone to this problem, and lets face it the chances are when buying used console from Game its likely to be an older model.

Even if everything else was equal, this is reason enough to spend a few quid more on a new machine.

Its just not worth the risk for £30.00
#38
its 2nd hand, sorry cold

No as it's available now that makes it the current generation.
Just because future generations haven't been announced yet doesn't make any difference. Are the Sega Dreamcast and Atari Jaguar next generation because their replacements haven't been released yet?
What are the 2nd hand prices on Premium/Pro versions?
#40
£110 for a 2nd hand refurbished console at a saving of huge 22%?
No thanks - Id rather have a brand new one.

Vote cold, becuase for a refurb, I would expect the saving to be greater to tempt me (even if it is an XBOX 360!)
