These are normally around £12 in the shops and just under a tenner at Amazon - Tesco are doing them for £8 and 3 for 2.

My wife uses these so this deal has allowed me to buy 6 boxes for the price I normally pay for 3 at Amazon.

The 3 for 2 offer is available on almost all of the Vitabotics Pregnacare range.

Available in store and online, although unless you add to your grocery shopping you will have to pay delivery.

I'm not sure I understand what omega 3 does in pregnancy

Well i'm certainly no doctor, but my wife used them with our first child and is now using them for the second so this post is more about the deal for people who already buy them rather than the product.

The only vital part is the folic acid, information on the rest is on the Vitabotics site if you are interested:

Pregnacare® Plus also offers an additional Omega-3
capsule to provide a rich source of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), eicosapentaenoic (EPA) for healthy foetal brain and eye development and Arachidonic Acid (AA).

Omega 3 found in fish is meant to be good for the baby's brain, my wife is pregnant and a vegetarian so uses these supplements.

Thanks OP.

Supplements are a Multi Million pound industry and the I think vast majority of them are an utter waste of time and money. Humans have been around a longggggg time without needing supplements. I prefer to spend money on nutricious FOODS rather than donate it to Mr Holland or Mr Barrett or anyone else that would like to sell me that rubbish. But hey, thats just my opinion. Who fancies a handful of nuts, a natural omega 3 source.

There's no evidence of that, though. Unless you have conducted your own high quality studies?

Not just your opinion- you have the evidence on your side too.

i think the jury is still out on this one!

in terms of brain function in children, some animal & clinical studies have shown marginally better performance/learning whilst on omega-3 supplements, whilst many see no significant effects (even when supplemented to levels that are equal to eating salmon for breakfast, lunch and dinner!). The majority of the beneficial outcomes seen with omega-3 supplementation are limited to delayed progression of chronic inflammatory diseases such as osteoarthritis, atherosclerosis and to some degree alzheimer's.

in terms of peri-natal effects; studies are even more conflicting. again some studies report a requirement for omega-3's for optimal foetal growth and development, reduced allergy risk and raised IQ. however, other studies have linked excess maternal consumption of omega-3s to shortened life span of offspring.

its also worth noting that excess consumption of fish has also been shown to have adverse effects on foetal development due to contaminants - so at least these supplements avoid this.

i agree that the nutritional supplement industry is a scam, and most minerals/vitamins are gained from an typical modern diet. but since omega-3's are a key component of the diet that has declined in the last few centuries, then if your diet is deficient i'd be inclined to say that omega-3 supplementation is an exception. at the end of the day, you have to make your own mind up!

But folic acid is free from GP / nurse when you are pregnant. Or you can buy 100 for about £1.50 from a pharmacist, only if you ask for folic acid. Buy the branded version and a lot more expensive.

The jury is no longer out, the claims for omega supplements are not proven. So not a good deal in my book because same ingredients can be obtained free, or a lot cheaper

Whether you agree with supplements or not isnt the question here.
What you should be doing is looking if you can buy 3 boxes of these for £16 anywhere else, finding that the answer is no and voting hot, whether you want to buy them, agree with them or not, this is a hot deal, simple as that, thanks OP.

Look at it this way. I can buy a packet of 16 paracetamol for 32p.

Or I can buy 16 Paramol for £2.89, same ingredients. Different packaging, fancy bright coloured box and advertising that will mention POWER somewhere.

No difference, except to your purse.
