I'm on the hunt to buy a new mattress after staying in a couple of hotels recently including Premier Inn. The common denominator has been Hypnos Beds.

Found out recently you can buy these beds directly from the Premier Inn with free delivery. So you can get a King Size for £525.
The closest to that bed is the Hypnos Pearl Pillowtop, best price I can get locally (Northern Ireland) is £699.

I'd have bought from Premier Inn but there's a £180 delivery charge to Northern Ireland. Frustrating. But for all you Mainland people I think this is a great deal.

N.B. 5 Year warranty through Premier inn instead of 10 Year if you bought through a retail store room.

Details below.

anout our bed

The luxury, king-size Premier Inn bed has over 1,000 pocket springs, providing individual, contoured support throughout the mattress – wherever and whenever it’s needed – for that “floating on a cloud” feeling. The mattress is enhanced with a super-comfortable, thick wool mattress topper, creating a luxurious, extra-cosy layer. It also helps to regulate body temperature for a truly serene sleep. The hypoallergenic mattress fabric means that allergy sufferers can enjoy a great night’s rest too.The Premier Inn beds are available in single (90x190cm), double (135x190cm), king size (150x200cm) and super king (180x200cm). The bed is made up of a luxury Hypnos mattress, with integral soft topper, plus a taupe divan base. The divan varies slightly from that found in a Premier Inn room in terms of colour, height and style to ensure we provide a divan in a neutral colour (see image to the right), with the option of incorporating storage drawers.  All divans, beside the single divan, are made up of two pieces.

Prices for the different sizes of the Premier Inn bed are detailed below. Prices include VAT at the current rate and installation. They also include delivery to ‘mainland’ locations in the UK. Delivery to other UK locations is available at a surcharge. Please check delivery charges with Hypnos.

that's not a deal it's the normal price.
I would have bought one too but laughed when they quoted delivery.
however, closest is not the same and don't believe a word the shop tells you.
try direct furniture in Belfast for good beds at what seems decent prices
Think it's a deal that not everyone is aware of so that's why I posted it. Still think it's a cracking deal. the NI Delivery seemed a set price and they wouldn't budge when I was on the phone to them
How is it a deal if it's the standard price?

ignore it then mate. I'll take it down if you want. alternatively go and find a Hypnos bed at that sort of money and let me know.

Go into a local independent and ask their advice. Usually get better service and value for money. This isn't a great price for a 1000 pocket mattress

Found out recently you can buy these beds directly from the Premier Inn with free delivery. So you can get a King Size for £525.

Gotta share my experience here I'm afraid.

Seriously, I'm not joking but I always get a good nights sleep in 'Premier Inn' hotels and used to joke about getting one of their beds.

So I was pleasantly surprised to discover the 'Buy Our Bed' page quite by accident on the 'Premier Inn' website in early January last year.

I ordered a king-size mattress at a cost of £525 from 'Hypnos Contract Beds' via the 'Premier Inn' website.

We already had a fairly new, great looking solid oak bed with sprung slats which we'd bought a separate Sealy mattress for, but regretted buying a double, so ordered the same bed in king-size costing £460 (so £960 all in).

The 'Premier Inn' bed prices were:
Mattress Only £525
Mattress & divan £900
Mattress & 2-drawer divan £980

The mattress arrived about six weeks later and the first few nights were a little uncomfortable to say the least. Not wanting to blame our lovely new 'Hypnos' mattress, I put it down to changing from our previous mattress.

Things didn't get much better though to be honest, but it wasn't until we went on a week long road trip a few months later that we noticed how uncomfortable our mattress really was.

We stayed in mostly 'Premier Inn' hotels plus the 'Drayton Manor' hotel that week and all the mattresses were 'Hypnos' and we had a good nights sleep every night.

Between getting our new mattress and that week-long road-trip, we hadn't stayed overnight anywhere, so didn't have anything to compare our mattress to directly, but the difference was astounding.

The only difference I could see between our lumpy mattress and the hotel mattresses was that theirs were on divan bases and ours is on a sprung slatted base, but which was still within the recommended guidelines (Hypnos: you must ensure that the slats on the bed frame are no more than 7.5cm apart, and that there is a central support rail on ‘Double’ sizes or larger).

The only other thing I noticed was that the 'Premier Inn' mattresses seemed to have a firmer topper, where ours is very soft.

I even went as far as replacing the sprung slats with solid wooden slats @ 50mm apart to give the base a more solid feel and more support, but the comfort level never changed.

At that, I contacted 'Hypnos Contract Beds'.

I may have got a dud and I keep meaning to get back to 'Hypnos' to sort it.

But it may be wise to go for the mattress+divan for the full 'Premier Inn' experience.

Sorry about that epic tale, but thought it worth a mention.

After having the best nights sleep ever at Premier inn I pulled back the covers to see what make the mattress was. I then bought a hypnos mattress from the outlet at Crendon (nr Aylesbury) as this offer wasn't on then. However it wasn't the same model as the ones at PI & isn't as good. Definitely tempted to go for this...

One of the bravest and most selfless acts I have ever heard. The nation salutes you. :)

Never knew about this so thanks for posting, contemplating getting this unless anyone knows a better mattress for the money. My memory foam mattress has sunk in the middle and does my back in, so hoping this will be money well spent.

I must admit that I've never been that impressed with the mattresses in the many Premier Inn's we have stayed in (although they are better than Travelodge).

We bought a Simmons Super king one about 6 years ago via Tesco and still love it. I think it worked out about £600 for the mattress and Base including 4 drawers.

Seen a Simmons king-size one for a lot less here with good reviews.

I guess no two people are alike and there are several bad reviews on there alongside the good ones.

I guess so although I was looking at the overall reviews with the good being a lot higher than a few odd bad ones.

Suppose if you buy direct from Premiere Inn you'll get the real deal. I stayed in a few hotels and liked the Hypnos mattresses - so I purchased one from House of Frazer, which felt OK in shop, but nowhere near as comfortable once at home - took ages to get used to it. I wrote several emails to Hypnos, trying to get information and they just ignored them all - their policy seems to be to ignore any complaint, in hope you'll go away.

Indeed, I got Hypnos matters from them and it was brand new one, even though they advertised it as ex-display.

I found out you could by the beds via Premier Inn / Hypnos last year and am planning on buying one on the next few months (they are cheaper than the other 'similar' Hypnos bed at my local furniture store) - next I need to know if I can get Premier Inn to decorate my room as I spend so much time in their hotels when working away that they feel more like home than my own room ;-)
