a bit harsh....

Blockbusters are also doing a 2 game package for £289, one game of which is Perfect Dark tin version and the other is a choice from a short list. I know Vegas 6 and Splinter cell were on the list but can't remember the others. Package can be upgraded to include additional controller for extra £20.

However the package mentioned by OP includes 2 top games. At worst this is a warm....

And as it's in store only there's no opportunity for things like Quidco.

Factoring in Quidco, Boots points etc, and other bargains/discounts found on here a mate of mine has just had the console, Gears of War, Burnout Revenge, Condemned, Pro Evo 6, and Table Tennis delivered for an effective cost of less than £300.

He owes me a huge favour for passing them on to him!! :-D

But his wife, doesn't seem so impressed

Sadly it wasn't just one deal - think it was made up as follows....

The console was from Boots with triple points and 1,000 point bonus - knocking about £42.50 off the £270 price. And if Quidco pays up was about another £18.

Then the games were:
Gears of War from HMV - £37.99, less £5 "WT8747" code, and 5% Quidco
Burnout Revenge from TheHut.com - £17.99 (now gone up to £21.99 I think), less 10% "valuemusic" code, and 7% Quidco
Condemned from ChoicesUK - £13.99, less 10% "BEST10" code, and 5% Quidco
PES 6 from ChoicesUK - £17.99, less 10% "BEST10" code, and 5% Quidco
Table Tennis from ChoicesUK - £13.99, less 10% "BEST10" code, and 5% Quidco

This would probably be my advice too, being so close to the launch. Wouldn't surprise me to see Microsoft do something to steal Sony's thunder just as the PS3 arrives over here.

Unless you can get a stupidly brilliant deal - might be an idea to sit on those gameplaying hands for just another fourteen days, just in case!!!
