The game is well worth whatever you pay for it. Unlike some other games with very short stories, this will take you 2-3 months to play through if you want to explore everything and do everything the game has to offer without cheating or taking shortcuts.

I would certainly recommend it. To be honest worth a preorder as you can always cancel later.

It's one of those games that doesn't look very appealing in the gameplay videos or magazine reviews but once you actually play it...it's f***king brilliant.

Favorite game of 2008.

This game is very cool, I currently playing it at the moment and been playing it non stop for close to three weeks, I am nearing the end but I am up to 89 hrs and 38 mins(including the side quests). The free-to-roam wasteland is massive, I cant believe how big the game actually is. If you're not careful you can seriously get lost. Anyway, It gets a high recommendation from me.

Update: I completed it in 89hr 55 mins, that was epic!

Superb game, but it will eat your life. I am having a break from it because I would start playing at about 9pm.... and before I know it.... light is coming through the windows! Its just SO compulsive. And I'm not usually "like that" with games! Superb value for money.... it really will keep you entertained for months. I think its a masterpiece actually, no really! Its THAT good.

This game takes AGESSSSSSSSSSS to complete if I remember rightly !

It's a seriously good game. It can be completed very quickly if you follow only the story, but you'll miss about 80% of the game. Too many people wrote it off on this basis, but they can't complain that there wasn't an incentive to explore (loads of hidden goodies about!).

Great game, took me around 60 - 70 hours at a guess, but thats without the DLC.

It takes a couple of hours to get into it, but persevere, get out of the Vault and wander round the wasteland a bit levelling up and doing a few sidequests. Once you have a couple of decent weapons and some money it's great fun.

Thanks.. Hope not a mistake about 5 x DLC

I didn't think there is any DLC for PS3 just yet. Its coming in September 2009.
I couldn't get into this game.

Anyone got any idea if saves from the non GOTY copy will work with this? Was this the case with Oblivion GOTY? Already played this game through twice to completion, really don't fancy having to play it through again.

Oblivion worked with trading saves, but there is no official word about Fallout so just a matter of preorder and cancel if word goes otherwise. But to be honest when the downloads are rumoured to beset for £10 a pop when they hit the PS3 it really does beg the question of being worth playing through if not just to save a fortune.

I already paid for one of the downloads (Operation Anchorage) on the 360 version. But I have endgame saves for both 360 and PS3 versions. I guess it makes sense to preorder it now and I can always cancel it. It will still be a lot cheaper buying this and selling my old copy rather than buying the rest of the DLC individually.

I played this game all over last Xmas and it consumed my every waking hour! I've now pre-ordered this edition. I remember finding the companion dog 'Dogmeat'. Fun times.

I put in an order on game.co.uk a few weeks ago now, and put some reward points into it too, so I'm getting a great price for a lot of gameplay. Although, even £30 is damn good.
