While the PSPs original shape remains virtually unchanged, The PSP Slim and Lite is 33 percent lighter and 19 percent slimmer than the original PSP, weighing approximately 189g (compared to the originals 280g) and measuring around 18.6mm in thickness compared to approximately 23.0mm.

The Slim and Lites video-out port, supports a wide set of connections (AV cable, S VIDEO, D Terminal AV cable, Component AV cable), enabling PSP Slim and Lite owners to watch high quality UMD Video, pictures and movies from a Memory Stick Duo, on a TV, or even play games on a progressive scan TV using a specific cable.*

With new features to temporarily store game data from UMD, the PSP Slim and Lite also reduces load time during gameplay. Moreover, the PSP Slim and Lite can charge via a USB cable connected to PS3 or PC making the Slim and Lite even more mobile and accessible!

I have no idea and no-one will be able to give a definitive answer until release day so don't believe any hear-say!

We can but hope :)

3.60

It's already been dumped by Mathieulh and Dark_AleX, so good news there.

Though. I'm not sure whether the pandoras battery will work with it though o.o

If you are cold voting then atleast say why!!! Where is this cheaper?

I didn't vote cold. I appreciate the heads up on the lite. Just for the record :)

Dark_AleX is back? I thought he quit the custom firmware scene?

I did realise he had a hand in "Pandora's Battery", using the alias "Malyot", though.

Either way, the release of the "Slim & Lite" should drop the retail prices for the "Fat & Heavy" well under £100, so that's a good deal waiting to happen.

I hope you've all spotted that Toys 'R' Us & Argos are already listing at £99.99.

Nice, If only Sony saw the light and added a second analogue stick, it would have been an excellent pocket FPS system, especially now that the CPU speed embargo has been lifted.

That would have been the icing on the cake... stupid that they didn't add another for the FPS games which "need" two analogue sticks.

I'm not going to pay £125 for eye strain, not when the DS Lite is going for £95-100. I'll wait for the 'fat' PSP to drop in value and for Crisis Core to come out. :)

news is pandora battery doesnt work with the new slim for now, so is probably better to get an original psp for now, still a good price for this one :)

Not a good deal at all. Its currently less than £100 on play asia for the japanese system which is identical to the european one. Games and systems are all region free so it pays to get one from abroad in this case.

I got my existing psps from japan and they are great :)

What about UK Import Tax? And play-asia won't ship the new PSP's to the EU.

Whichever way you look at it, £125 for a downgraded PS2 on a tiny screen is not good value for money. And, I'd most likely just hook it up to my TV if I did buy it.

The DS Lite for £95-100 is much better value for money.

The point is that the deal is a good one if you want a PSP Slim. I don't want a digital SLR camera at £700 but it doesn't mean I cold vote it because I can buy a Point and Shoot for £150!!

I haven't voted cold...not that my vote would do anything. :p Simply sharing my views on this "bargain" price.

In short: Wait for the 'fat' PSP to drop in price and get that. The end.

Is this really a stunning deal when everywhere else (while charging rrp at the moment) is at most £5 more. Ok it's the cheapest around, but hardly groundbreaking.

Well if play asia wont ship the slim psps, many other places will :)

Renchi for one (http://www.renchi.com)

Any good import shop will be able to get you a psp slim for around £100 if not less, which makes £125 look like a rip off.

Also, Game are the last place I would purchase anything from. They have the worst reputation amoungst video games fans for charging way over the odds for hardware and software as well as sending used goods and pretending that they are new.

My advice... never buy from Game.

There are lots of import shops online, try a few out and save yourselves a bit at the same time. If you get stung for import tax, well thats the risk you take.
