Just bought some, but make sure you copy and paste the link, and it'll take you straight to the right pair.

It took me a while to find anything on the homepage, but then saw them listed at £4 in the featured frames.

anyone bought from here? any good?

Well they're certainly very cheap! I would also be interested to hear from anyone else who has actually used them.
#4
Yea bought from their last offer. Really nice glasses. No probs at all. Bought some of these for my wife to keep as a spare.
#5
I badly need glasses, better get a test booked :(
#6
Thats a good price for a spare pair of specs..
#7
is this live yet?
#8
Heat left super price
#9
I've used SelectSpecs.com before as they sell glasses cheaper for £6 with coatings free.

Not a bad deal though.
#10
code not working???
#11
I would say this is cold until there is official confirmation that this offer is live, nothing on the site about it at all yet and simply putting 'free coatings' in the extra info box does not mean you will get anything!

This is the email I received from them....

Hi Anthony,

As discussed your order is now with our lab and the lenses are being made to your prescription. You should receive an email from us early next week to advise they have been dispatched. I have also updated your details with the correct delivery address.

As discussed, we are running a new promotion this weekend. We believe it will attract some 'heat' as it is a very strong offer on prescription glasses including coatings, case, cloth and delivery. The following information is with our designers and will be launched to our client base tomorrow, but the offer is already live:

Prescription Glasses only £7.99 delivered with free coatings @ Speckyfoureyes.com

Is there a way I can convert my prescription for contacts into a prescription for glasses?
#22
I tried to measure my PD and got about 74mm - will it make a huge difference if I'm wrong? I have about an average distance between my eyes for my body size, can anyone list theirs? Thanks
#23
I can't see any mention of the extras in my confirmation email though.

It confirms that I entered the text "FREE COATINGS" in the extra information field, but the coatings/case etc are not mentioned anywhere else at all.

Anyone else see anything different in their confirmation?

74 is very high. If you are fat as a 1970s wrestler, and have eyes on the side of your head, you might be close. And yes, it will make a difference, depending upon your prescription.
For the person asking if they can convert their contact lens prescription to a spectacle prescription, the answer is a resounding no.

Bought a pair of spec from here a little while back ( they were doing them for a £5.00 then) , pleased with them , took a week to get delivered not bad, but charged £3.95 for P*P. The jiffy bag was posted 2nd class so this prob cost em around 80p to P&P. with glasses this cheap i suppose they gotta make their money somewhere but I does leave a bad taste being overcharged for P&P when its clearly been sent much cheaper
#26
Arg I'm -2.25 cylinder. They always stop at 2.00 for cheap lenses.
#27
Just got this in my mailbox:
"Thanks for your recent order.
The Anti-Glare and Scratch Resistant Coatings will now be applied to your personalized lenses (free of course)
Kind Regards,

Rich, for guys like us who have prescriptions that do not fall within the mainstream, asda are doing complete specs for £50 including High Index lens that normally cost £150 (for me at least as my eye sight is pants) and you can chose your own frame from their selection.

I used to think a bit like this, but changed my mind when I was doing an accountancy course a while back + realised for myself when I sold stuff on ebay.
Postage cost doesn't only include cost of stamps. There are other overheads ie. packaging labour cost + packaging material + transport etc. Think if you were posting somethig for a customer on ebay, you have to pack the parcel (material + your own time cost), then drive it to the post office and back (petrol, insurance, vehicle wear and tear, depreciation, time costs), then wait in line (time cost- as you could have done something more enjoyable with your time or worked that time that you could have earnt you money [it can also be called opportunity cost]) and then of course you add the postage to this. If the parcel for a customers goes missing, received damaged etc, don't forget you may need to deal with that as well.
As you said even without considering the above, can't complain much as we will be paying +++ more in the high street if you add it all up, but then again you get a different service in the high street opticians and therefore they have more labour costs!

When I put 2.00 it recommends to use a thin lenses but is it really required or can I leave without the "thin" option?
#35
Purchased! Hot, thanks. :-)

"You can also mention us on discussion forums or internet blogs. Simply email us the link to your posting to [email protected] and we will email you a £5 gift voucher to use towards your next purchase. Click here for more information on ways of spreading the word around."

Has anyone successfully received/used a £5 voucher on this? If you can get a pair of glasses for £2.99... that's really good!
#36
Cheers OP, just ordered my first ever pair of glasses! Now I can look like a truly authentic geek, helloooo ladies ;)

My PD is 69. Go to a shop and try some specs on and ask the sales person to measure your PD.

Anyone know if you select the tinted lense option does the free coatings offer still apply?

Ordered as a spare pair, thanks very much OP!!!!

I'm a huge -3.00 cylindrical measurement. Just gone to Spex4less who gave me a code to get free High-index lenses, Reflective free (?) lenses and some other coatings for a spare pair of driving glasses : cost - £19.95.

There was a buit of postage on top (2.99 i think). I'm a convert to them, having used them twice before.
