The Prescription glasses from £7.98 deal is back on.

I think tinting is free, so could be a great way to have cheap prescription sunglasses for the summer.

My e-mail says 72-hour offer but I didn't notice a time limit on the website.

NB £7.98 is for glasses from their £4.99 range of frames.

Lots of slightly more expensive frames with discounts available, also.

It's a bit of a swizz. The £4.99 (pound) range is exactly the same as the $4.99 (dollar) range, so you are paying more for being British, then they knock some off. Also, the basic lenses used to come with free coatings (scratch and anti-reflective) but now it says "no coatings". I bought some before, with progressive lenses, coated, and it came to 30 quid delivered, but I bought from the USA priced pages and paid with American Express.

Still cheap glasses, if you can find a frame that you like and that fits. I think they are range ends, and the earpieces (temple) are mostly short or very long.

It's a US company but they actually ship from Pakistan.

Sure, like a lot of these companies, they start loading the price when you add the extras. BUT, it's £7.98 if you don't!

As I said, given that the tinting of the lenses appears to be free, this is a cheap way of getting a pair of prescription glasses for the summer to use at the beach ,or other places you might not want to use a good pair.

There were just over 600 different designs at £4.99 when I posted.

My experience with googles4u wasn't good. First pair did not arrive. After 2 months I got a "replacement" which broke (snapped) in the first week. I would get my glasses from Tesco's £10 range if I wanted some cheap glasses.

Thanks, let me try my luck. :)

Rubbish company! I ordered some glasses from a deal posted here weeks ago and I'm still waiting for them to be delivered! I tried to log in to check my order and it didn't recognise me and when I emailed them they said delivery was 4-6 weeks. They didn't say that when I bought them! Still waiting now.....

*********************WARNING - DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY ! **************************

I bought rimless specs for £60 last year from this lot. The lenses cracked the first day I got them (took nearly 3 weeks). They sent out another pair (another 3 week wait) and the lenses cracked again on day one of wear. I took them to local optician who told me the lenses were not designed to be used as rimless. They were ordinary lenses to be used in frames. I pointed this out to Goggles4u and they told me to post the broken glasses to California. I managed to get an address in UK after a while and duly sent them off. I was offered another pair of glasses or a refund for the frames only, as the lenses were broken. I pointed out their glasses were 'not fit for purpose' under the Sale of Goods Act, but they didn't budge. I complained to Consumer Direct only to be told the company was not from UK so nothing they could do. Goggles4u had removed all traces of UK from their website too.

Had the same problem with a company based in the Uk. Rimless must have polycarbonate lenses. I was lucky, got a refund and a free pair made up, I suggested that I may write about my experience on forums. They listened and did a good job sorting the problem. They also claimed their company policy would be changed as a result.

The company has been around for years and supply from Pakistan. Glazing is often poor quality. Prices for lenses have significantly increased. Often the products are broken an arrival and even the wrong prescription. If you buy, do so on price!

I have ordered 2 pairs with 'glass' lenses and they came after about 2-3 weeks and both pairs are brill the 'cheaper' pair were £26 and the wife prefers them over the 'nike' pair which were £126 both photochromic with coatings, so a big yes from me !

Stop complaining you get what you pay for, as the saying goes.

You only paid a few quid for them and you expect a pair of glasses worth hundreds.

Don’t be naive.

i got a pair cost me £38 pound and they took 3 weeks to arrive. they will do great as a spare pair of glasses.

I got 2 pairs of single vision glasses on the last offer for £15.96 in total with 5% quidco, which has tracked. They took about 3 weeks to arrive, but were fine, and the lenses were thinner than those from Glasses Direct. Also, I have a quite a complicated prescription, and both the frames were semi rimless.

I have ordered another pair with tinted lenses on the new offer for £7.98, again with Quidco.

Good company to deal with. Cheap glasses. Rimless for £8 where at specsavers same would be £100+.

This sale has been on for ATLEAST a month as I ordered ages ago at this price. The rimless ones are alot better than what I normally get from specsavers at just a little fraction of the price AND includes delivery!

Buy from Brille24 if you want a decent pair of glasses at a decent price.

".co.uk" with offices in UK.

If you mean that companies selling goods supplied from abroad should be banned, that about finishes it for all game consoles, cars, other electronics, clothing...and even Cadbury's chocolate soon!

It's a residential address in Burgess Hill. Their security certificate says .com not .co. uk

Perhaps you could get a better attitude?
