It was hardly the most intelligent of reviews tho':p

"I bought this TV elsewhere and it has to be one of the worse purchases I have ever made. The picture quality is poor, the sound quality is very tinny sounding. The dvb tuner does not pick up all channels that other tuners I have do. On switch-on the tv often finds no signal at all and requires switching off and on again. The stand does not really detach for wall mounting and an ugly stub protudes below the tv. The epg is difficult to read. The supposed pvr is a joke. You have to invoke the pvr after changing channels, and once invoked can only stay on the channel until it is released, e.g. you cannot look at the guide or use teletext until you've switched the pvr off, so the sponteneity of a pvr just does not exist. Avoid this unit like the plague and wait for some-one else to make a tv with built in pvr."

Yeah looks awesome on paper but by the sound of it in reality it sucks. Shame though great price for a piece of kit that has awesome potential

Does it make the TV any less awful though?

Sorry OP had to vote cold with this deal!!!!

The main problem with this tv - there is only ONE Freeview tuner therefore you can only record what you are presently watching. If there was TWO Freeview tuners this would be a HOT Deal. But at present IMHO I would not spend more that £160 for a television with these specs.

Isn't that the same as SKY+? You can't access the TV guide on that if you're using the PVR functions, so that doesn't seem like too big a deal.

Can you tell me where you foudn this info?

The offical specs can be found here.

No mention of either a second Freeview/digital tuner or an analog tuner, therefore there is only one tuner for watching AND recording television programmes.

Okay Tronic lets look at the tech specs:

Is there a TV tuner?Yes
What type of TV tuner? DVB-T (digital/freeview)
TV Features – Teletext? Yes available with freeview (own channels)
TV Features – HDTV Ready? Yes – can display a resolution up to 1080i
Analog Video Format? Depends on which country this television was purchased. See here for listed countries and their video formats – UK market requires PAL I format. This PAL format is required if I wanted to watch videos or DVDs via scart connection (as this would be an analog signal).

I hope as I have a matchstick status I have lit the touch paper of wisdom for you as to why in my option my comments still stand.

I kinda want to buy this for some reason, but think I should go with the 24" Dell option instead. Anyone received this TV yet?
#32
I have this tv and am very pleased with it. Today though I tried a 16GB USB stick in it and it didn't seem to recognise it. Any ideas if there is a max size it will read? My 1 GB works fine.

Cheers.
#33
those who have this TV, can you record one channel and watch another?

No, it's only got one tuner I believe. I just tried and couldn't do what you want to do with it.
